Earn Thousands of Bonus United Miles on Purchased Tickets (Targeted)

Targeted promotions can be so amazing or so annoying, depending entirely upon which end of the coin you find your account. A new targeted promotion available to some United accounts awards bonus redeemable miles based on how much you spend with the airline from September 15 – November 15, 2017, assuming you also fly that purchased ticket during that same timeframe.

They did a similar promotion last year that my household did very well with, but we are sadly not targeted on any of our four MileagePlus accounts this time around. You can check to see if your United account was targeted here.

Some of the targeted offers I spotted on the Award Travel 101 Facebook group include:

  • Spend $500 and earn 5,000 bonus United miles
  • Spend $3,600 and earn 92,500 bonus United miles
  • Spend $300 and earn 3,000 bonus United miles

The offers are generally two-tiered with a lower and higher payout amount that varies from as small as 3,000 miles all the way to up to a six-figure bonus on some accounts. Of course, in most cases, it won’t pay to be overly motivated by these bonuses, but they are good to register for so you can earn bonus miles on top of what you naturally would be purchasing and flying in that timeframe anyway.

Was your United account graced with a bonus offer?

  1. It’s a pretty bad set up, at least for me. I mostly book a month or so out, and so for a short window like this half of that is gone before we even get started. UA would then like me to book 7+k to get that 92k miles over the second month. Not even worth me trying. Glad for others that they are getting more reasonable offers than I am.
