We are starting to see more and more fun bonus offers from Chase Pay, and now there is a new one will award 2,000 bonus Chase Ultimate Reward points with a $20+ purchase at eBags.com made using Chase Pay and your eligible Chase Sapphire or Freedom card from December 1 – December 31, 2017.

I personally value Ultimate Rewards points north of 1.5 cents each, so getting at least $30 worth of bonus points for a $20 purchase isn’t too shabby of a deal at all. Similar to with the 10x at Walmart Chase Pay offer, there is a landing page for the Freedom and Freedom Unlimited cards as well as one for the Sapphire and Sapphire Preferred cards, but I haven’t found one for the Sapphire Reserve, so it is possible it was left out this time around.

It is also possible this is a targeted offer as the terms do point that direction, so double check directly with Chase via secure message or similar to see if your account is eligible if you want to be 100% sure before ordering, though with these fancy public landing pages, my gut tells me it probably isn’t targeted beyond having a specific type of card.

If you are looking to just order the minimum to trigger the bonus, eBags does carry some items in the $20 range such as backpacks, toiletry bags, eye masks, packing shoe covers, and other travel accessories that could be great stocking stuffers for the travelers in your life. They do also sell gift cards.

In terms of ramping this deal up a notch, eBags is currently awarding 10x miles/points per dollar via the American AAdvantage e-shopping portal (which will stack with their last-minute bonus of up to 1,500 miles), 16% cash back via TopCashBack, and 10x via the Chase Ultimate Rewards shopping site. eBags also has coupon codes out there, including one for 30% off if you join their email list.

Remember to pay for your eBags purchase using Chase Pay and relevant Chase card to trigger the 2,000 bonus points and happy shopping – I’d love to know what you find!

    • Even better, you don’t actually need the app for much of this. When checking out online just select “Chase Pay” the way you would PayPal or similar and check out with your normal Chase.com log-in info!

      • I emailed Chase this morning to see if my CSP account was eligible for this promo. Here’s the response: “Jayson, I am pleased to inform you that your account ending in xxxx is eligible to earn 2000 bonus points
equivalent to $20.00 cashback when you use Chase Pay and
spend a minimum of $20.00 on eBags.com from December 01,
        2017 through December 31, 2017.”
Thanks again for letting me know about this, MP.

  1. MP, I don’t see the Chase Pay option from Ebags checkout page. Of course I can add a Chase card as a payment option. Will using that saved Chase card automatically trigger the 200 Chase UR points? I assume not.

    • Hmmmm, I’m not logged in or anything and it shows for me right under Paypal when you first click on the shopping cart.

        • That shouldn’t matter to make ChasePay display as I wasn’t even logged in at all with it being there. Have you been able to get it to work?

          • Yes, but not until I signed in and added a Chase card. However, I agree with you, it really shouldn’t matter whether I attached a card or not.
            Well, it worked eventually.
BTW, I went thru the Chase UR shopping portal which had 10X on Ebags. Hoping the simple $20 GC purchase generates 10X twice(once via Chase Pay and once with UR shopping).

  2. Did you get an email about this? I see under the chase portal that this is 10x pounts, which is good itself, but I can’t find anything about a 2000 point bonus. I checked my emails , even the trash but found nothing. Thanks for the info!

    • Kris, I found out about it from the linked Slickdeals thread in the post. If you want to be 100% sure if one of your accounts is eligible I would send a secure message to Chase. Hope that helps!

  3. What does it mean “Chase Sapphire and Chase Sapphire Preferred?” There’s no Chase Sapphire card, there are Sapphire Preferred and Sapphire Reserve.

    • Chris, the Sapphire is still out there, it is just no longer being issued. THe Preferred and Reserve are the two versions still being issued.

  4. Thanks for the tip! They put $10 bonus cash in my account the other day (plus the $5 I have in there) so I could easily use this for a couple smaller travel accoutrements!

Data point: definitely make sure to send a secure message to Chase. I have CSP and Freedom and sent a message under each credit card. In my case, the offer is not available for the CSP but IS available for the Freedom.

  5. I see something that I want for $19.99, which would be over $20 after shipping is added. Does the $20 spending minimum include shipping charges or is it based just on the item price?
