New Promo: 10% Points Rebate for Hyatt Credit Cardholders!

One of the biggest reasons I got the Hyatt credit card back when I did back in 2015 was to take advantage of a cardholder only program that awarded a percentage of redeemed Hyatt points back for a number of months. They ran a similar promo again last summer, and this morning’s great news is that they are brining that promotion back again this summer for Hyatt credit cardholders! From June 1 – September 5, 2017, registered Hyatt Credit Cardmembers will…

Coming Change to the Chase Sapphire Reserve Annual Travel Credit

Many of the premium rewards credit cards have a built-in annual travel credit of some sort, but they all execute it in their own quirky ways that can get a little confusing from card to card. The Chase Sapphire Reserve’s annual $300 travel credit has been one of the most generous in that it works for any travel charge and it is issued once each “calendar year” meaning in your first cardmember year you could theoretically get it twice. Note that…

Chase Reportedly Overtakes Amex in Credit Card Rewards Spending

Today I ran across an interesting article about credit card rewards that probably won’t be super surprising to many of us, but it was still an interesting read. The Forbes article linked above points out that in 2016, for the first time, Chase outpaced American Express in their annual spending on credit card rewards. Not coincidentally this is also the year that Chase literally ran out of the Chase Sapphire Reserve and its metal card shortly after the card and its then…

Earn 100,000 Points Referring Friends to This Ink Card!

Today I got an email from Chase informing me that I could refer others to the Chase Ink Business Preferred Card and earn up to 100,000 Ultimate Rewards points in the process. I think this is both a great sign-up bonus and referral offer, but it came as a surprise because I don’t even have the Ink Business Preferred Card…yet. If you aren’t familiar, the Ink Business Preferred card offers a whopping 80,000 sign-up bonus points after you spend $5,000 on the card…

Why You Shouldn’t Cut Up Your United Credit Card

On the heels of the terrible United passenger removal incident, I recently shared things you can do with your United miles other than actually flying United…without just letting the miles expire or redeeming them for something uninspiring like a microwave . Either because of being wary of the in-flight experience, or to be a part of a wallet driven protest, there are those who are stating they don’t want to fly United ever again. As part of that protest, some are also…

Earn 5x Points at Grocery Stores and Drug Stores Now!

The Chase Freedom credit card has no annual fee, but packs some serious earning power as it has rotating 5x bonus categories every quarter, often on purchase types that families can easily maximize. The only downsides to this card are that you have to remember what the bonus categories are each quarter in order to use them, and you have to activate the 5x earnings. Today I want to help you out with both of those things. First, know that the…

Last Chance to for Easy 5x Points This Quarter!

The Chase Freedom is one of my favorite rewards card with no annual fee, but it is one that requires a small bit of upkeep to maximize its full rewards earning potential. Each quarter you need to register to earn 5x points in the bonus categories, and then of course you need to remember what those categories are when you are out and about using your card. The deadline to activate the first quarter 5x bonus categories of gas stations and local commuter…

Final Weekend for Sapphire Reserve 100,000 Point Offer!

My favorite new rewards credit card and sign-up bonus in the last couple years has been the Chase Sapphire Reserve and its 100,000 point sign-up bonus. My husband and I (and several friends and family members) all got in on this deal when the offer was available online until January of this year. While the offer is not available online any more, it has continued to be available in Chase branches for those who go and apply in person. However,…

Earn 10x Points on Hotels and Car Rentals in March!

In the last couple of years we have periodically received the pleasant surprise of the Chase Freedom credit card upping its payouts to 10% cash back in some surprise categories beyond the regular and advertised quarterly rotating 5% cash back categories. We sadly didn’t see this happen around the holidays this past year, but the surprise increase is now back just in time for spring break travel! From March 1 – March 31, 2017, both the Chase Freedom and the Chase…

When is the Chase Sapphire Reserve Annual Fee Charged

I was beyond thrilled when I (finally) got approved for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card in January just before the online sign-up bonus dropped from 100,000 points to 50,000 points – though it is still available at the 100k level in Chase branches until March. Of course I started spending on the card as soon as it arrived both to work towards the $4,000 spending requirement to trigger the 100,000 sign-up bonus points, and to start taking advantage of the 3x…
