How I Plan to Use My Delta SkyMiles

Delta SkyMiles Credit Card

A couple of years ago I found myself in the position of really, really wishing I had Delta SkyMiles at the ready, but coming up empty handed. They were by far the best type of mileage currency for the award I wanted to book at the time, but because I had bought in hook, line, and sinker to the “SkyPesos” description of SkyMiles, I had neglected to focus on earning any significant number of miles within that program. The truth…

Sign-Up Bonus From Delta Platinum Cards!

Delta Jet

This limited time offers have expired.  The time to get new rewards credit cards is typically when their sign-up bonuses are at their highest levels, and right now the Delta co-branded cards from American Express have new sign-up bonuses for a limited time! Specifically, the Platinum versions of the cards really have my attention as I have never seen them higher…even over the summer when they were increased. Each of the Delta Amex cards is considered a unique product, so while…

Delta Jet

As I said I probably would, I applied for the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Business Credit Card so I could up my own Delta SkyMiles account balance with extra miles after I hit the spending requirement. I have already had the personal version of that card, so it made sense to go for the business version this year. Before I get into how that application went, here are links to the various Delta Amex offers in case you still want to apply before…

The Card I Will Probably Apply for This Week

Delta

The temporarily increased Delta Amex offers have ended.  Why I Want the Gold Delta SkyMiles Business Card: I pulled the trigger on the personal Gold version last summer when it was at the temporarily increased level, and while I haven’t yet used those miles, I’m now strongly considering getting the business Gold version in the next few days. Since I’m betting I’m not the only one in a similar situation, here are my thoughts on why I am likely to…

Examples of How to Use Your Delta SkyMiles

Increased Delta Amex Offer

This represents a real increase over their common public sign-up bonus range of 30,000 – 35,000 miles. I pulled the trigger on one of these cards during a similar temporary increase last summer to aid in diversifying my miles and points – and I strongly recommend that strategy for pretty much everyone. To show you why you probably do want Delta SkyMiles and some ideas on maximizing their value, I’ll give some current redemption examples! I recommend having some Delta miles in your…

Many of these cards have introduced temporarily increased their sign-up bonuses just for the next few weeks until 7/6/16. However, getting rewards cards is just the first step…maximizing their built-in perks is the next part…
