How to Save $60 or More at Aspen Snowmass This Year

I have already shared how you can ski or board at Snowmass for just $6.50 on one special day this year to celebrate their 50th anniversary, but there is now another deal available to save you money at all of the Aspen Snowmass Mountains.   On several of my Amex cards there is an offer to either get a $60 statement credit or 6,000 bonus Amex Membership Reward points when you spend $300 in one or more Aspen Snowmass transactions by January 12, 2018.…

$6.50 Aspen Snowmass Lift Tickets Available Online

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about a great opportunity to ski at Aspen Snowmass this winter for just $6.50 on December 15, 2017, to celebrate their 50th anniversary with lift ticket prices from 1967. At the time the terms seem to read that you had to have a one-night stay booked through Stay Aspen Snowmass to buy the $6.50 tickets. However, either the previous terms were just poorly worded or they changed their minds and eliminated the lodging requirement because…

Hyatt Place Keystone Now Opening During 2018 Ski Season!

Last year I shared the great news that the Inn at Keystone had been sold and was rebranding as a Hyatt Place Keystone and a couple of months ago we learned that the hotel was going to be a Category 4 Hyatt property and was accepting reservations for stays beginning May 1, 2018. That was all very good news, but now the news for ski-loving families gets even better! Hyatt Place Keystone Now Opening During 2018 Ski Season! The Hyatt Place Keystone…

$6.50 Lift Tickets at Aspen Snowmass to Celebrate 50th Anniversary

I love fall, but apparently my travel dreams are shooting straight for winter and ski season as I have found myself hunting for ski deals right now far more than anything else travel related. Maybe my subconscious just wants as far away from hurricane season as we can get. Anyway, in addition to the still-available free kid’s ski passes to some top notch Colorado resorts that I wrote about yesterday, there is a phenomenal life ticket deal available for one…

When SPG Cash + Points Rates are Better Than Full Award Rates

If I had to pick my #1 favorite use of Starwood Preferred Guest points over the last few years it would be tough, but I think the winner would be using them for top notch lodging on otherwise unaffordable ski trips. Since we have little ones, the location of our lodging on ski trips is pretty important to me. I know my parents drove through the night from Texas to get to the mountains, hit the slopes the second we…

K – 5th Grade Kids Can Ski 16 Free Days in Colorado With This Epic Pass

Ski season is coming up quickly and those who like to get in on the cheapest season passes should note that prices are already rising. Those with kids have to worry not only about a pass or tickets for themselves, but also seek out the most economical way for the kids to board or ski since most resorts start charging kids pretty big prices at a very young age. Last year I wrote a post on some of the ways…

Lots of Additional United Flights to Ski Towns Loaded

United has recently beefed up their winter flight offerings to ski-towns in the Western United States, so if you don’t yet have your award (or paid) flights booked for your family’s winter ski trip, today is a good day to check availability. Some of the flights are offered year-round, but many of the flights to smaller ski towns such as Telluride, Jackson Hole, Steamboat Springs, Idaho Falls, Glacier Park and Big Sky operate only from late December to late March.…

Big Updates on Hyatt Place Keystone in Colorado

Last year I shared the great news that the Inn at Keystone had been sold and was rebranding as a Hyatt Place Keystone! If you aren’t familiar with Keystone, it is a genuinely family focused Colorado ski resort that is in the Epic Pass family that also includes Vail, Whistler, Park City, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and many more resorts.   Points-friendly hotel options in the Keystone area are pretty limited, so a Hyatt Place located just a short walk to the mountain base…

Save on Holiday 2018 – 2019 Travel By Booking SPG Properties Now

A couple weeks ago I shared that the Starwood Preferred Guest booking window was stuck in early December 2018 instead of extending through the 2018 winter holidays and into January 2019 as it normally would via an 18 month booking window. I didn’t know if this was a temporary glitch or an intentional decision by SPG/Marriott. Either way, it was a major bummer for OCD points planners like myself because the expensive winter holidays are exactly when I love to…

Skiing at Canyons Park City With a Family

We selected the Hyatt Centric Park City and the adjacent Canyons section of the Park City Ski Resort for this year’s mom/daughter ski trip primarily because it was a great value on Hyatt points, and it was somewhere we hadn’t yet skied. You can read all about the Hyatt Centric Park City in this post, or check out the video below to see the hotel and the mountain in action, but now it is time to focus on our time…
