Lowe Prices, High Points!

I’ve talked about this before, but want to emphasize it again because some people (ahem, my parents) didn’t seem to get it the first go round. 🙂 The topic: shopping portals! This time I am going to talk exclusively about Lowe’s because lots of families have expensive trips to this store. While expensive is never fun, expensive does = mucho miles!

My parents are by (unfortunate) circumstance about to foster a basically wild dog. They need to quickly build a dog pen as this wild dog likes to escape. They found a kennel at Lowe’s and are going to purchase it tomorrow. I found out and reminded them to use the Continental Shopping Portal to order it and then select “Pick up in Store” using their Continental credit card. There is no extra cost to do this and they will earn 4X Onepass miles for doing so. The kennel is roughly $250, so they should earn 1,000 points. Doesn’t make up for the pain of spending the $250, but at least they got something in return for their effort!

It does add an extra step to the process, but it doesn’t take much time and pays off in the end. When you get to the store, your order should be ready and waiting. The website says you just need to allow 20 minutes before you head to the store so that they can get your order ready. Honestly, as a mommy, I love the idea of my order being ready before I get there so it is sort of a double bonus.

Last I checked Home Depot doesn’t have this feature yet, but they appeared to be working towards it. Let me know if you have questions and here is a picture of the stray, wild dog (aka White Dog) who will be residing in this point-filled kennel. She is looking for a permanent home once she has been rehabbed some in her “foster kennel”!
