Attention shoppers, there are 1,000 free Frontier Miles available on aisle 3! Frontier is giving away 1,000 free miles when you sign-up for a new Frontier frequent flier account. Don’t stop reading just because you don’t fly Frontier, it’s gets even better………..

Frontier participates in – which is an online place you can buy, trade, and exchange points. So, if you don’t want your newly minted free 1,000 Frontier miles then go to and exchange them for Continental Onepass Miles, or American Airlines, or Delta Skymiles, or Priority Club Hotel Points, etc…… You can use the miles to add to the frequent flier accounts you use most, or you can use them to make a deposit in accounts you don’t use frequently to keep the miles in those accounts from expiring due to no activity. Many different programs require some sort of activity every 18 months in order to keep the account active, so this could help extend the life of miles in programs that are in that situation.

Just like with any currency, when you exchange miles from one program to another, there is an exchange rate. Here are a few examples:

1,000 Frontier Miles = 153 Continental Onepass miles
1,000 Frontier Miles = 297 Priority Club Points
1,000 Frontier Miles = 184 US Airways Miles

As you can see, this isn’t exactly a “Points Bonanza”, but hey, it’s free points!

Quick review on getting your free points:
1. Sign up for Frontier Frequent Flier Account
2. Sign up for Account
3. Exchange Frontier miles for points in the program of your choice.
4. Done!

It really only takes about 5 minutes total. For what it’s worth, I like to use my “extra” email address for signing up for things like this just to help avoid getting too many un-needed emails in my main account.

  1. Hi, I tried this with the back then. For some reason, it states that “unfortunately, your exchange has been cancelled as we were unable to process it. If you would like to try again, please visit”

    Transaction Date: June 14, 2011
    1,000 Frontier Airlines EarlyReturns®
    153 American Airlines AAdvantage®

Perhaps, it requires 1001 points in the Frontier account. May I ask if you are able to complete this transaction?

    • I should go back and update the post, but they seem to have made this sneaky change shortly after this was posted and required 1,001 miles to transfer in that program to prevent all of the people who were trying to do what we were doing. Boo on them!
