Just a quick post to remind you about remembering to earn miles and points when you rent cars. We just booked one for a wedding we need to go to next weekend (just to keep the miles off of our car – we drive too much!) via Hertz and used a portal from United Airline’s website to get a 1,000 United mile bonus just to make the booking. You can then choose to earn United miles for each day of the rental as well. Using the portal also gives you up to a 35% discount over the regular rate. The deal is scheduled to run through August 31st.

We were also able to stack a coupon that we had been emailed when we signed up for the Hertz promotion last week to save an extra $15! All in all we got a mid-size weekend rental for two days with unlimited miles for $44 bucks all in plus over 1,100 United miles. Not bad! So, whenever you need to get a rental car consider using a portal, such as United’s, which can be found here. The more miles the better!
