I’ve been frequenting the United Airlines Shopping Portal due to the Months of Miles promotion. Today I was greeted with a beautiful sight, United giving away a half million miles in increments of 25,000 miles to 20 participants, no purchase required! I would make a good mommy to some free miles, I promise. They would be safe and sound in my account…at least for a few days. 🙂

Did that get your attention??  Here are the details.

1.  Get a United MileagePlus number.

2.  Go here to register for the contest.  You do have to be a US resident to enter.

3.  You can earn one entry per day for simply viewing the “Special Offers” page.  A chance to win miles for just click your mouse?  I’m in.

4.  Earn up to two additional entries per day for making a purchase through the shopping portal.  Two purchases per day = two additional entries per day.  Again, this pairs fantastically with the Months of Miles promo!

5.  The contest runs through 9/23/11.  Between now and then say your prayers, do your dances, count your lucky stars, or do whatever it is to bring better fortune to your family!  How awesome if someone on here won 25,000 free miles.  Let’s make it happen.

I’m now daydreaming about what I would do with 25,000 free miles.  Probably add them to my collection saving for a future family vacation.  What would you do with your miles if you won?

  1. Mommy Points, I read the contest rules and as I read it there is no 500,000 mile grand prize. The sweepstakes has TWENTY GRAND PRIZES of 25K each. Still not bad just for clicking a mouse though.

    • I agree, still not bad, but not near as cool as a half million to one person would be! I think maybe I should sleep more, post less. 😉 Thanks and all fixed now!

    • Yes, post now reflects that. Still fantastic…..I think I am like a raccoon around metal. I see shiny big numbers and key in on that!

  2. Thanks for sharing, but what I like more is your enthusiasm. Where do you get all that energy specially with little C. Maybe some day you would like to share that also. Any way save some enthusiasm for US airways promotion as I expect some updates from you. I don’t think I will be able to take full benefit but still I will go for the easy peasy ones which require minimal purchase and effort.

    • I think I am just a natural born cheerleader. I get excited about opportunities to help my family (be it travel related or not) and even more excited at the idea of being able to share those opportunities with others! For me, being excited and upbeat adds to my energy level, instead of draining it. Of course, we all have our days where we would rather lay on the couch under an blanket and be grumpy…..I just don’t usually have the time to actually follow through with doing it. 😉 Oh, and I will absolutely be sharing my US Airways Grand Slam info as I go. It’ll exciting to see how that promo plays out.

  3. GreatBalls of Miles!!! Thanks for the Heads Up! Easy to do that on my daily ‘Windows’ shopping trips! 🙂 Hope I win some miles. Extra 25,000 miles would go a long way in helping me save up for my two planned Girl Friend get aways. One with my Colorado Friends, and one with My NY friends!!! Wish it was a Half-A-Million for a Grand Prize tho wouldn’t that just be AWESOME???

    • CindyT, those sound like fun trips! I also wish it was a half-million, but I would do a happy dance to receive 25K. 🙂

  4. If I won the 25,000 miles I would likely hoard them with my other miles and maniacally watch the count go up, waiting for the perfect storm to occur where there is a great transfer bonus mixed with my wife and I having the vacation days accumulated while targeting the perfect trip out of the continental US, while making sure our daughter is well taken care of back home. One day that perfect storm will come.
