Today was the day of the big drawing (and by drawing, I mean random number generator selection) of the winner of a free night at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa.  We had over 200 entries, so a big thank you to everyone who entered for their interest in visiting this amazing resort.  In case you missed it, you can read all about the resort here and here.

The winner that was selected was Missy who posted on 9/26 at 3:40PM.  She wrote, “I NEED a trip to Lost Pines because it is so hot I need to cool down in the pool with a frosty adult beverage!  I also want an excuse to put some money in the Bastrop economy after the fires.  Other than the pool, the amenity I most look forward to use is the s’mores.  Yum!”

Missy, I hope that you enjoy your free night away (send pictures!) and I know that the City of Bastrop will appreciate any and all economic stimulation you can provide!  To everyone else who doesn’t get a free night, I still strongly encourage you to keep this resort on your “Must Visit” list.  While some nights and weekends are more expensive, I have often found nights at this resort for under $200, or you can do what my family did and use 18,000 Gold Passport points to experience this resort without spending your cash.

The Chase Sapphire credit card’s 50,000 bonus point sign-up offer (annual fee waived) is currently my favorite way to rack up Hyatt points quickly.  The Chase Hyatt credit card also give you two nights free at any Hyatt upon sign-up (with $75 annual fee).  Hyatt will also let you combine Gold Passport points with another member of your household, so if you and your partner both have some extra Hyatt points lying around you can combine them and get to this resort even faster!

Thanks again to the very generous folks at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines for their donation of this free night.  I seriously can’t look at pictures of our time there without thinking about booking our next visit!  So pretty and peaceful.  🙂

I have some more fun contests in the works for the future, so keep checking back for more chances to win!
