While checking some airfares this morning, I noticed that Frontier Airlines is offering flights from Houston to Denver for $39 each way for many dates until March 7th.  A little more investigation revealed that this “New Year’s Sale” is larger than just Denver to Houston!

Some other routes on sale include:

Denver to/from Albuquerque, Austin, Hayden/Steamboat, Little Rock, Houston
Milwaukee to/from New York, Grand Rapids, Flint and Washington
Kansas City to/from Austin, Denver, Milwaukee, Houston

I also noticed that at least Continental Airlines has matched the sale on the Houston to Denver route.  Flying Continental from Houston to Denver round-trip for $98.10 all-in is pretty amazing – especially during “ski season”.  I say ski season in quotes, because the snow isn’t so fantastic right now.  😉 As you can see, availability is pretty good on Continental for that route right now at the discount price of $78 pre-tax.

I didn’t have a chance to check to see if airlines were matching some of the other routes on sale, but if your travel plans include any of these routes through March 7th, now may be a good time to book!  Feel free to post here if you find some other airlines matching some of the routes.  Fares must be booked by 1/12/2012.

Here are some other terms and conditions from Frontier Airlines regarding this sale:

Tickets must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time, January 12, 2012. Fares shown are one way for travel through March 7, 2012, for flights operating Monday through Saturday. Roundtrip purchase not required. Blackout dates of February 17 and 20, 2012, apply. A 7-day advance purchase applies. Seats are limited at these fares and certain flights and/or days of travel may be unavailable, especially during busy travel periods. Tickets are nonrefundable, but may be transferred or reissued for up to a $100 change fee (depending on the fare type purchased) as well as a possible fare increase to a non-promotional fare type. Previously purchased tickets may not be exchanged for these special fare tickets. Flight segment(s) must be cancelled prior to scheduled departure time or the ticket(s) and all monies will be forfeited.

Fares shown reflect purchase at Tickets purchased on Frontier’s website must be paid for at the time the reservation is made. Depending on the fare type purchased, a $20 fee may be charged each way for the first and for the second pieces of checked baggage. 1. I found LGA-MKE for several dates in Feb-Mar for $98.10 RT on AirTran. Now if only I wanted to go to Wisconsin in the middle of winter. We’ll see, maybe I can come up with a fun reason to go. For what it’s worth, I was also able to combine the sale cities to go RT LGA-MKE-MCI for $196 for a couple of dates in Feb and that was on Frontier.

  2. My wife and I are from near Chicago. We got flights from Milwaukee to New York for $98.10 each nonstop. That is absolutely amazing. Thank you for this post as it will give everlasting memories!

    Thanks in advance!
