What’s the Point: Playing in Snow and Swimming by Ice

Today my little family traveled from Texas to Colorado to take C to see snow for the first time.  She was so excited to go on the trip, and has been having a blast since we got here.  This trip has had a lot of  “firsts”.  In addition to seeing snow for the first time, tonight we had a family first of swimming outside at night next to snow and ice.  We didn’t stay in very long because we didn’t want C to overheat in the heated water, but for the time we were in we all had a complete blast.  I wish I had some pictures of her squealing with delight to be swimming next to ice, but we left the cameras in a safe and dry location.

However, I did snap a quick shot of the pool before we got in.  Seeing my daughter playing the in snow, and swimming by ice is the point of why I do what I do.  It is why I not only collect miles and points for myself, but why I run this site.  I want as many families as possible to be able to have experiences that would otherwise be outside of their reach.  Lord knows we would never have been able to afford this hotel if it weren’t for miles and points.  😉

More to come tomorrow, but for now we are enjoying our snowy night at the resort.

    • I will absolutely do a multi part review very soon. I try to not post the exact resort name until I am gone to help ensure I get the same experience as everyone else would so I can do an accurate review. (not that I think it is likely I would get different treatment, but better safe than sorry. Ha ha.

  1. Ooh, I know where you are, and it is DIVINE. We went in Feb. 10 and loved sitting in the hot tub while it snowed on us.

There’s a great Mexican restaurant in the ski resort base area – surprisingly cheap given the location (surrounded by high-end jewelry and art stores).
