Application Link: Ink Bold℠ with Ultimate Rewards

Just a heads up that I just got an email from my credit card affiliate company that my Ink Bold Business card links have to be taken down by 10AM tomorrow (Wed).  Given that we recently saw an increase in the spending requirement on the Ink Bold directly on the Chase website from awarding 50,000 Ultimate Reward points after spending $5,000 on the card in three months, to $10,000 in three months, I imagine we will now see that change from affiliate links, like mine.  I can’t swear to that, but that is the pattern we have recently been seeing.  The public offer changes first, then about a week or two later, the affiliate offers change.  So, my guess is that I will have to take my links tomorrow down as they will be deactivated, and then a day or so later I will get new links with the increased spending requirement.  Again, I can’t swear this is what is happening, but it is a pretty good guess.

This coming change is why I just applied and got approved for the card myself.  I can’t wait to get it and take advantage of the 5x points categories such as:

Earn 5X points per $1 on the first $50,000 spent annually at office supply stores, and on cellular phone, landline, internet, and cable TV services

Earn 2X points per $1 on the first $50,000 spent annually at gas stations and for hotel accommodations when purchased directly with the hotel.

Earn 1X point per $1 on all other purchases, with no limits on how much you can earn- redeem your points for what you want through Ultimate Rewards

I will literally get tens of thousands of additional Ultimate Reward points annually by maximizing the bonus categories for things I was going to have to pay for anyway.  So, if you want this card, and don’t want to have to potentially spend twice as much on the card to get the 50,000 point sign-up bonus, I would apply today.  The $95 annual fee is waived the first year.

Good luck if you apply – I’d love to know how it goes!

  1. Thanks for the info, I appreciate the helps up! – Because of the increased spending requirements, I applied for the card yesterday. Although I already had six personal cards and a business card from Chase, this offer was yet another one too good to pass up!

After spending a good half hour on the phone, explaining just what you did about my own business, I was offered to close another account to be approved. Was easily worth the time! So far I’ve been very pleased by Chase’s reconsideration line. – Although I’ve had to call up a number of times, I’ve never been denied. Thanks again for the heads up about the possible new spending requirement!

  2. Thanks for the early warning. I just pulled the trigger from your link (for which you owe me a burger.) Although I have mainly a regular 8-5 job but lets see how I do with their reconsideration line tomorrow. I need to write down all my side business on a piece of paper and hope I find a better CSR than mommypoints.

  3. I applied and got the “waiting” as everybody else. I didn’t wait, i called right away and spoke to a really nice guy…he even had a good personality. What was strange is when I applied for my SW Chase card, i had to move around some credit to get approved for that. On this one, he didn’t even bat an eye at my other credit limits, and approved me for my largest line of credit with Chase. All in all, I was on the phone for about 10 mins with him and it was relatively easy.

  4. Initially I was planing to wait for a day but the poster Ryan encouraged me to call immediately which I did. After some questioning for ten minutes, I was approved. Long live mommypoints. Definately mommypoints owe me a burger for using her link but since I was approved, so now I owe her a burger and that means we are even. No worries.

  5. Applied and was approved – got to figure out how to meet the $5k min as I am still working on the Amex $10k and Sapphire $3k…Thanks mommypoints.

  6. @Travis, congrats on getting the card and you are more than welcome for the heads up. 😉

@Ryan, that is great and thanks so much for sharing!

@caveman, so glad to hear the recon call went well! I am happy to buy you a burger to thank you for your support – as long as you tell me about how you used your UR points! Just remind me whenever our paths cross. 😉

@garipi, yay! Congrats! I plan to post soon about meeting the spending requirements on all these great offers since I know many of us are in the same boat.

  7. Got approved for Chase Shap on Mar 24th and New Ink bold on Apr 18th…. Used your link on both cards! hope you get your referral.
