Daily Getaway Deals Day 11 (Monday): Wyndham Hotel Points!

We spent this evening at the ER with our a very sick toddler, so apologies for not going as in depth on this post as I had originally planned.  We are back home now with medicine thankfully working, but it was a more eventful Sunday evening that we had planned.  That said, Monday is a big day for the Daily Getaway deals.  There have been some good deals in the first two weeks of the Daily Getaway deals, but tomorrow’s deal takes things up a notch.  I wrote some about this deal already here:

Last year I was able to buy two of the 32,000 point packages and made great use of both of them for stays for my parents at hotels that would have cost them many times what I paid for the points.  However, given how inexpensively one can obtain these points, the transfer rate of 2.5 Wyndham points to 1 airline mile with several airlines (Delta, US Airways, American, United, and more) is also not too shabby at all.

  • 16,000 Wyndham points for $55 (750 available – 150 during the presale)
  • 28,000 Wyndham points for $76 (350 available – 75 during the presale)
  • 32,000 Wyndham points for $110 (350 available – 70 during the presale)
  • 50,000 Wyndham points for $143 (300 available – 60 during the presale)
  • 48,000 Wyndham points for $165 (250 available – 50 during the presale)

That means that the price per point ranges from .27 – .34 cents per point, and that is without the 10% Amex discount.  With it, you are paying even less!  Paying about 1/3 per cent for a point is pretty stellar.  Say that you purchase 50,000 points at .2574 cents each with the 10% Amex discount.  If you wanted to convert to United miles, you would get 1 United mile for every 2.5 Wyndham points.  That means you would have 20,000 United miles for $128.  Amazing.  That is about .64 cents each.  Crazy.  (Though this was super quick math, so let me know if I have jumbled it up somewhere!)

Terms and conditions:

  • One set of points may be purchased for this offer per Wyndham Rewards®account number. Up to 6 sets of points may be purchased in total for any Wyndham Rewards offer in this promotion per customer/account number.
  • Wyndham Rewards® points expire four (4) years after being posted to your member account, unless forfeited or canceled earlier due to membership inactivity for eighteen (18) months or otherwise in accordance with Wyndham Rewards Terms & Conditions.
  • Wyndham Rewards points can be redeemed for hotel and vacation resort stays, airline miles and tickets, rail points, car rentals, entertainment and gift certificates, charitable donations, and other rewards from participating merchants and service providers. Please see full Wyndham Rewards Terms & Conditions at www.wyndhamrewards.com= for details.
  • For Wyndham Rewards participating locations or brands, see Wyndham Rewards Terms & Conditions at www.wyndhamrewards.com=.
  • Offer valid at participating properties in the U.S. and Canada only.
  • No blackout dates apply to reward stays.
  • The estimated value of this offer is based upon the average daily rate of participating hotels in this reward tier. Estimated package value will vary by hotel and could be less.
  • All sales are final.

This deal is going to go quickly.  Very quickly.  Be ready right when the pre-sale starts at Noon Eastern and again for the general sale at 1PM Eastern.  You should like Wyndham Rewards on Facebook to get the code to access the pre-sale.  I would join Wyndham Rewards ahead of time to avoid problems with their servers getting hit with people all trying to sign-up at once or a potential delay purchasing your package due to needing to get your Wyndham Rewards number.  These points are great to redeem for hotel stays, airline transfers, stocking up for the Grand Slam, etc.  If you can purchase a package or two, you won’t regret it.  Good luck to us all tomorrow!

  1. This was a great deal last year. It reduced the cost of airport stays to well below Priceline and Hotwire rates. The Wyndham at LAX serves a continental breakfast (like a Hampton Inn). I hope I’m back in the office later.

    Hope Little C recovers quickly.

  2. I hope your daughter feels better soon. I have liked Wyndam on facebook and it says that the code will be posted on the wall in the morning. Does anyone know when the code will be posted? Thanks

  3. @Harold, you are welcome. Good luck!
@Heather, thank you. She went from fine to listless and pale after getting violently ill many, many times in rapid succession. It was Exorcist style stuff that just wouldn’t stop on its own. Once she got some meds (and emptied her stomach), things calmed down. Just glad it happened when we were all home.
@Mike S, I do not believe that there is a way to normally buy points.
@Theresa, thanks, we hope the same thing. 😉
@Mark, thank you. She is still sleeping now, so that is good!
@Dan, it is a heck of a deal and thank you.
@Pete, I don’t see it up yet at 9:30 Eastern, but just keep checking.
@Jethro, should be posted on their wall/timeline, but it isn’t there yet that I have seen.
@pablo escobar, if you go to the calendar view you can see all of today’s deals. It is weird how they make it hard to navigate sometimes. https://dailygetaways.ustravel.org/Calendar.aspx

  4. T&P to lil C! Our little bubba managed to slam his face into a stationary object yesterday, and somehow bleed on both sides of his mouth… but nothing to the level of a trip to the emergency room.

Question: the Ts&Cs for most are “1 per rewards numbers.” (Qty 2 for Super 8) Is there any issue with buying for 2 (legitmate) Rewards numbers but charging both to my AMEX? DW does not have a AU card, so both charges would be against my name…

  5. They are saying “Check back today at noon eastern to get the Early Access Code.” so I guess we may not see the code until the appointed time.

Good Luck all. I hope you’re all in line right behind me! 🙂

  6. I have a rewards #, so if I want to purchase more than one set of points, I need to sign my husband up for a Wyndham Rewards account? Is this correct? Sorry.

  7. What point package are you going to target? The 16,000 & 50,000 are the best deals but, there are many more of the 16,000 avaliable.

  8. Is this the process—- at 12 noon we should be looking for a code on Wyndham Facebook page (after hitting like). Once getting the code, we go to the Daily Getaway Deals site and click on the deal you are interested in and enter the code when prompted. Yes?

  9. SO WE BUY WYNTHAM POINTS FROM THAT SITE AND HOW DO WE TRANSFER TO AIRLINE ACCOUNT? i have advantage and united account , and also what is the transfer rate?

  10. My husband and I were each trying to get the presale and we were not successful. Any tips on browsers or other ideas for the 1pm assault?

  11. I tried to get one right on time, but couldn’t.
But folks, careful with this site, they bait and switch. They switched my purchased item along the way somewhere from 2 Nights at a Days Inn® for Only $76 to New York CityPASS(s)!!!! BE CAREFUL

  12. Well that was fun…I ended with 126K, but mad at myself because in the frenzy I forgot to change the super 8 qty to 2. UGH! Oh well! More Grand Slam prep though. 🙂 Thanks for all the updates and links, they really helped. Hope Little C is doing OK!
