The last major event on tap for the Frequent Traveler University is the first ever Credit Card Tournament of Champions!  There will be some fierce competition for the illustrious title of “Credit Card of the Year”!

Here are the match-ups:

United Explorer vs. British Airways Visa (Mommy Points vs Gary Leff)

Chase Sapphire Preferred vs Starwood American Express (Deals We Like vs Million Mile Secrets)

Ink Bold vs. Alaska Visa (Million Mile Secrets vs Gary Leff)

American Express Preferred Rewards Gold vs. Capital One (? vs Tommy777)

American Express Platinum vs. Ritz Carlton (Deals We Like vs Tommy777)

Fidelity Amex 2% Cashback vs. Citi AA Mastercard (Seth vs Tommy777)

There will be pros and cons presented about each card with the audience and moderator Randy Peterson asking tough questions.  I get to pick apart the BA Visa.  😉  Though, I do actually like that card, don’t tell Gary.  The winner of each head to head match-up will then go on to the final round and a grand champion will be crowned!

So, who do you think will win in this very serious and highly competitive tournament?  A fun and informative end to a fun and informative weekend.

  1. Hi, on Distance based AA awards, where i have 6 stopovers, what if i am traveling with an infant , how much would that be, is it 10% of miles or ticket prices, also what happens when i start the travel my infant will be less than 2 sitting on lap but the infant turns 2 during the middle of the trip, can you shed any light on this, i would highly appreciate it, i am trying to take advantage if travel before she turns two years old, thanks so much

  2. Wish I could be there for this! Great line-ups of cards and debaters! My pick would have been Chase Sapphire Preferred, but now has to be Ink, given that now you can just buy Visa gift cards or any other gift cards at Office Depot (or other similar stores). Thanks for keeping us updated on the fun parts of the event. Look forward to hearing the result of this tournament!
