In case you missed this message in all of the buzz surrounding the Star MegaDo 4, there is an extra day added on the end of the MegaDo in which anyone can participate.  You don’t have to have purchased a ticket on the actual MegaDo flights to attend.  The day should be quite interesting as it is dubbed “Cowboy Day”.  I’m from Texas, and based on the sample of folks I have met from the miles and points community, there aren’t many “cowboys” in the group.  It should be quite entertaining.  Best of all, the event raises money for LIVESTRONG.

Since I am also going on both the international and domestic portion of the SMD4, I very much need to get home early Saturday morning, so I will sadly miss this event.  However, I would love to have one of you go in my place.  Just promise me that you will have a good time and donate whatever amount you feel comfortable donating either to LIVESTRONG directly or while at the event.  I have no doubt there will be raffles or some opportunity there to give to LIVESTRONG!  In addition to be being really fun, you should be able to interact with some big wigs from Hyatt and United, so that is pretty neat by itself.

If you want to go in my place, just leave a comment here and I will select a winner on Thursday morning.  I’ll pay for your ticket to the Cowboy Day event and you will be good to go.  Yes, you still need to make your own arrangements to get to/from the event.  Even if you just buy your ticket directly you will likely be getting more than your money’s worth considering 100% of the proceeds go to charity, you will have fun all day, and be wined and dined at night in the company of good folks.  You can learn more about the event on Milepoint.

Giddy up!

  1. Cowboy Day sounds excellent! I took line dancing (for credit!) in college so I’d love to dust off my moves and rub elbows with fellow travelers.

  2. Didn’t realize you were actually going to both international and domestic – cool. My first Megado and I opted to go for the whole shebang as well.

I’m probably going to head back home Saturday afternoon as well.

  3. reading addictivly your blog and numerous others as a escape and to satisfied my hunger for travel. i spent a huge portion of my life to care for my special needs child and now need to work to be able to travel a bit later. it is amazing how all your so young bloggers not only able to see the world, but do it in relative luxury.
