With an extended family that is spread out all over the country, we end up shipping a fair amount of things including outgrown clothes, toys, birthday presents, etc.  So when I saw an email that mentioned earning bonus miles for shipments, it caught my attention.  After all, earning rewards for things that you are going to have to do anyway is one of the main ways that I earn my miles and points.

Until the end of September you can earn 3 Delta Skymiles per dollar for FedEx Express®, FedEx Ground®, or FedEx Home Delivery® shipments.  That’s all well and good, but it is the bonus miles that caught my attention.  Until the end of September, every 5th shipment will earn you 1,000 bonus miles.  Plus, if you are new to the FedEx/Skymiles program, then you get 500 bonus miles for your 1st and 4th shipments as well.  If you are a new customer, earning 2,000 bonus miles for making five shipments between now and the end of September isn’t too bad – assuming you were going to be using FedEx anyway.  Of course, if you happen to have a business that utilizes FedEx frequently, this promotion could be even more lucrative.

There are a list of FAQ’s here for the Skymiles/FedEx shipping promo and you can enroll for the program here.

  1. My company gets to large of a discount for me to participate with the sFedEx hipping we do. Now, please, tell me, what would that have to do with participating in this promotion. It has been this way for the past 3 promotions they have had. Fedex says I have to complain to Delta, what?

  2. @Noah, thanks for that info!
@Pointasaurus, that stinks. I saw that up to 26% discount is the limit. I guess they think if you get that big of a discount you are going to use them regardless of a promotion or they don’t feel you need any extra perks due to the good rate. Either way, still sorry you can’t get in on the bonus points!
