Thanks to CokeandTaco Flyertalk for pointing out that some inexpensive fares to San Juan, Puerto Rico have returned for dates late in 2013 and into early March 2014.  I saw some even lower prices a month or so ago, but this is still a good way to escape to some warmer weather during the winter months.

Here are a few round trip fares I saw when playing around online:

DFW – SJU $227 RT on United

IAH – SJU $259 RT on American

LAX – SJU $229 RT on United (for mileage runners, this is 3.1 CPM)

EWR – SJU $261 on American

There are probably some other cities in this price range as well.  As usual, the easiest way to play around with looking for these fares is on ITA Matrix.  Don’t be scared – it is really easy.  Promise.

Hope you all have a great weekend and let me know if San Juan is in your future travel plans.  My scheduled is too booked to jump on this one, but living through other’s bookings is always fun.  😉

  1. Will be going to P.R. over the Memorial Day weekend with the family. Girls ages 3 and 9 will enjoy El Conquistador Hotel.

  2. Nothing against PR but I hate it there. So many beautiful island around within a reach of short flight. Im thinking about booking this and maybe flying somewhere else out of SJU.

  3. PR is great, get out of the city. the Ren there is great as well. a lot of local places around there.
if you stay at a resort like El Con, don’t get stuck relaxing there the whole time (unless that is your thing.)
