I am regularly on the website for one reason or another and like many of you have had some technical difficulties with the site from time to time. Even when it is working, it is a bit of a cumbersome process to check for points availability as it is not located in the same spot as the rates. So, if you want to compare points price to the going rate (which you always should) it required several steps…until now.

Thanks to a reader for alerting me that the Hyatt site has gotten a big facelift. I haven’t yet played with all of the features, but can tell right away that they have made the process of seeing points availability much easier as it can now be displayed next to paid rates without logging in or having enough points in your account.

It’s too pretty of a Saturday here to stay in and play with the site too much today, but I did want to share the good news that it is a bit more user friendly – at least in terms of points availability.

Have you used the new site? What do you think?

  1. I was confused by the site at first this morning. I could not figure out where they put the make an award reservation bit. I did not see a tab for award reservations when I made a reservation, but I was searching government rates so that could be why. I will try again and look, also will try with other special rates/dates to see if the points tab omes up. Unless the points tab only comes up with regular rates, which would be a pain . . .

  2. t is beautiful today, isn’t it. My kids are outside riding bikes. We need to enjoy it because the summer is coming up fast :). – From a fellow Houstonian.

  3. One thing that is dumb is that that they start the week on Monday not Sunday. I wonder how many people get tripped up from that? Some airlines do it and it is annoying.

  4. Now how do we book/find a room for a family using points. It keep saying too many per booking etc. but when you put 2 adult then it would come up with only a 1br option, I need those 2br option with points.
