A few different miles and points promos have surfaced today, and Instead of lots of separate posts, here are some of the top promos listed together.

Hertz 3x Points for September:

Register to earn triple points on your Hertz rentals that are picked up between September 1 and September 30, 2013. You must be a Hertz Gold member to register for this promotion, and only reservations made after registering count (I just re-booked an upcoming reservation after registering). If you’re not yet a Hertz Gold member, sign up for free today, then return 48 hours later to register for this promotion.  You must be a resident of the U.S. or Canada to earn triple points.  The offer is valid at at participating Hertz locations in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, U.S.V.I., United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Brazil, Australia and New Zealand.

National Car Rental 1-2-Free Promo Returning:

National Car Rental’s popular 1-2-Free promo is returning in September and running through January.  Last year the promo was structured where you earned a free rental day on every two paid midsize or larger rentals of two days or longer.  Registration for this promo will start on September 9th and I will share all the updated terms for this year as soon as I have them.

50% Off US Airways Club Membership…in person, today only, at LGA:

According to this Flyertalk thread, you can get 50% US Airways Club new memberships or renewals in-person at the US Airways Club in LaGuardia through today (8/27).  I know it is unlikely that will help many folks who happen to read this in time, but wanted to include it just in case since 1/2 off is pretty amazing.

US Open Amex Sync Promo:

If you have plans to go to some of the US Open tennis matches like I do, then make sure and tweet #AmexUSOpen to save $10 off a $20 purchase at the US Open via a statement credit.  You can learn more about Sync-ing your Amex card here.

I did a full post on this one already, but basically you get double miles with airlines like American and US Airways for booking hotels via PointsHound through August 31st.

  1. Mommypoints,

I got targeted by Starwood for a make one booking get one free so I booked a hotel this thursday night. Can I cancel that booking and still keep the promo active by then booking with pointshound? Don’t want to lose the free night.

    • Michael, it very well could work if you book a Double Up rate, but frankly I wouldn’t mess with it since your prize on the line is so large!

  2. I think you are right. For 1000 AA miles why risk it? I had to click through a promotional link so why mess with it and lose the free night at a Category 5 hotel.

By the way, if anyone is reading this and wants to chime in on the best SPG Category 5s to redeem, I’d welcome the input.

    and thanks!

    • Michael, any specific parts of the world you are considering? My thoughts jump to great ski properties, (Beaver Creek, Whistler, etc), NYC properties, or some of the Hawaii properties are also Cat 5’s.
