Starting today PointsHound will be offering 1,000 points/miles to both referrers and referees when any referees make their first hotel booking prior to October 4th. The reservation can be for a date after 10/4, and points are awarded after the reservation is completed. This new bonus logic applies to all PointsHound referral codes, so anyone can get in on the action! The typical referral bonus is usually 250 or 500 miles depending on who refers you. If you aren’t yet familiar, PointsHound is a 3rd party hotel booking site that gives perks in the form of airline miles or points to the customer for using their site. They allow you to earn miles on over 150,000 hotels around the world in 10 frequent flier currencies (including US Airways, Delta, American Airlines, Virgin America, Hawaiian Airlines, and more).
- This applies to any referees who signed up through a referral link prior to this promo but haven’t yet made their first booking
- The bonus is available in any of PointsHound’s supported miles and points programs
- Bonus miles are awarded to both parties after completion of stay (2-6 weeks depending on program)
Rocketmiles is having this exact same promotion.
Lynn, I think 1,000 is normal for Rocketmiles (though they do have an awesome promo where you get up to 4,000 US Airways miles for your first booking). I plan to write about them soon, but while you earn tons of miles with Rocketmiles, they have a smaller footprint and can’t guarantee the hotel points/elite status like some PointsHound rates. So, they are similar, but they serve different needs in my book. I like them both, but for different things.
