Thanks to a Mommy Points reader today for forwarding me an email about a Club Carlson promotion called “Mega Points” that awards an extra 10,000 points per night for reservations at select hotels when using the booking code MEGAPT.

The list of participating hotels is very small, but it can still be worth keeping in the back of your mind in case any of them line up with your travel plans.  The deal is scheduled to run through the end of 2014.  Make sure to use the code “MEGAPT” when making the bookings.

New York City
Radisson Martinique on Broadway
Radisson JFK Airport

Radisson Resort Orlando – Celebration
Radisson Hotel Orlando – Lake Buena Vista
Radisson Hotel Orlando – UCF Area

San Francisco
Radisson Hotel Fisherman’s Wharf

The trick is that the promo code seems to make the hotels about $20 more per night on average in order to get the 10,000 bonus points.  I think that 10,000 points are worth more than that to most who would use them (especially with the co-branded credit card to give the last award night free), but you need to do that math for yourself and compare this rate with the lowest rate you qualify for to make sure you are coming out ahead.

Remember the other current Club Carlson promotion that awards 38,000 bonus points with three eligible nights from January 6 – April 13, 2014.

  1. For 3 nights, 2 guests, March 17-20 at Fisherman’s Wharf I got $319 MEGAPT per night versus $239 lowest non-refundable without the 10,000 points. Shop carefully.

  2. If you book 3 nights using this 10K/night promotion, does that mean you can earn 68K points total? Or are these nights not eligible for satisfying the 38K/3-night promotion?
