Use Your SPG Points for Chicago Cubs Suites and More

Last year I used some valuable Starwood Preferred Guest points to take my husband to a Chicago Cub’s game at Wrigley Field.  The seats were in a luxury suite complete with drinks, food, great views of the game, etc.  It was very much worth the 7,500 SPG total points that we paid, and I know many other Mommy Points readers that very much enjoyed similar experiences at Cubs games using SPG points.

Now the packages are again available, and I can pretty much guarantee that some of them will go quickly for popular nights.  The prices are higher than they were last year (last year 5,000 points for Club Box seats and 7,500 for suite or “take the field” packages), but they could still be a decent deal for some Cub’s fans with SPG points burning a hole in their pockets.  Here are the different types of packages that are available throughout the season.

There are also a couple auction packages for your kid to be an honorary team manager for the Cubs on select dates.

Thanks to SPG Champion on Milepoint for sharing this news, though he reports the packages are available tomorrow, yet they seem bookable today.  Have a great time out at the ballpark if you decide to get one of these packages!

On an semi-unrelated note, you can also redeem 2,500 SPG points to go to the Rio 2 premiere in Miami and walk the “blue carpet” with your kiddo!

  1. Thank you for this post, I had no idea SPG did stuff like this. Heading to Chicago in August to root on my Giants and this is the best way to catch one of the games, just booked one of the suite packages (too bad the rate went up but I’m still a happy camper). What a great way to experience Wrigley for the first time.

  2. Thanks Mommy pts, just got the Miami movie premiere with SPG pts. What a hoot! I wouldn’t have gotten it if it wasn’t for your website. Mary Jane

  3. Thanks for the heads up on this. My wife and I will be heading to the luxury suite in a couple weeks for a Cubs/Pirates game. I was wondering what time they stock the drinks? Wondering if it is worth getting there early for a couple pre game beers or just hit one of the bars in Wrigleyville and show up just before game time.
    Thank a bunch

  4. My husband and I soon will be at Wrigley enjoying the SPG suite. Can you tell me if a parking pass is included ?

  5. Is this package being offered for the Upcoming 2017 Season? If so how can I get involved and can more than two tickets be purchased for the correct number of points of course?

    • I think packages are usually released in the spring – I will try to share if/when I see them! I think you can get more than two tickets to most, though there may be a cap of 4 in some cases if memory serves correctly.
