Great Time to Try Uber – $30 Free Towards Ride!

I’m in New York and when I was having a hard time finding a cab yesterday in questionable weather, I tapped the Uber app on my phone and five minutes later a nice Uber car arrived and took me to my destination.  It was like magic, and today they brought back a good bonus for new customers to try them out!

You will get $30 towards your first trip within the US (and the person who refers you gets the same).  I love Uber and am excited to try out their car seat option when I am back in New York with my daughter in a few weeks.

Uber free ride

I used to encourage folks to share their Uber links in the comments section to spread the love around, but that seems to have gotten some folks in trouble with Uber so I can’t do that anymore.  However, you should absolutely refer your friends and family to Uber so you both get $30 toward future rides!

  1. For the PMs above, did you guys read what Summer said before posting your referral link? Please show some respect.

    • Bostonwalker, aw thanks. 😉 I honestly don’t mind if people post their referral links at all (and used to encourage people to do so), but my understanding is that some that posted on similar blogs in the comments got in trouble with their own Uber accounts for doing so, so proceed at your own risk.

    • Some people don’t read what is written, just the headline, before reflexively giving an automatic reply. I think in their day jobs they are CSR’s for certain airlines, hotels and banks that we know and love.

  2. Where does this promo show up in the account? I referred my wife but under “Payments” I do not see any $30 credit in her new account.

  3. @Justin. It’s $30 towards here 1st ride, not a $30 credit. It you login via internet and click on link below her name it should show up under promotions

  4. Guys, I already told Summer this, but just warning everyone that Uber is now disabling your individual link codes if it appears on a blog.

They seem to also be clawing back referrals earned so be careful and decide whether it’s worth the risk of having your accounts disabled.

Thanks Summer for being so conscientious and warning your readers!
