Even Better United MileagePlus Offer Available!

Yesterday a very good public offer for the United MileagePlus Explorer card came out that awards 50,000 miles after $2,000 in spending in the first three months and 5,000 additional miles if you add an authorized user who also makes a purchase in that time frame.  That is a very nice public offer, especially since the regular offer is just 30,000 miles.

As usual when new public sign-up offers like that come out, I check around to see if there is an even better offer that might not be available via my official affiliate network, or might not even be the main offer advertized on the bank’s website.  Strange as it may seem, it is pretty common that there are multiple offers for the same card out at the same time.

Yesterday morning when I wrote about the increased public offer there was no trace of anything better than up to 55,000 United miles currently available.  However, by later that afternoon a link had surfaced that awarded the same number of miles but also provided a $50 statement credit after the first purchase.  Obviously that makes that offer exactly $50 more lucrative than the first version!  I updated yesterday’s post, but also wanted to call out the even better offer with its own post today.

United 50,000

That version with the statement credit is advertized to also be available until September 2nd, so you have a month to hop in on one of the best United offers I have ever seen!  If you pulled the trigger already on the offer without the statement credit I would reach out to Chase and see if they might be able to match you to the even better offer.

Thanks to Personal Finance Digest for sharing news of the even better offer!

  1. I’m debating getting this for my wife, but am not a fan of UA miles anymore since the devaluation. Do you think it’d be better to hold off for an increased Chase Sapphire Preferred bonus? It seems overdue for a bump to 50k. Either that or a return of the BA 100k offer, I find Avios to be super useful.

    • Dbest, I have no head’s up about what is coming down the pipeline but Chase does seem to be bringing the A game rotating through some rewards cards with increased bonuses. I love United miles still, though admittedly a little less than I did last year.
