Frontier Airlines has just announced several new routes from Chicago, Miami, and Philadelphia, and they are being celebrated with the one-day-only $14.99+ fares that Frontier has been doing with their new route announcements.  My own parents got in on $14.99 Frontier flights from Houston to San Francisco last week!

These super cheap fares go very quickly, so buy now and ask questions later if you have been needing/wanting to visit one of the destinations on sale.  Some dates are $14.99 and some are $39 with all falling in the late December, January 2015 time frame.  You can see the exact dates and prices on Frontier’s site.

$14.99 Fares: Tickets must be purchased by 11:59 pm Eastern time on Sep. 30, 2014 for nonstop travel on:  Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Jan. 6, 2015 through Jan. 14, 2015.

From $39 Fares: Tickets must be purchased by 11:59 pm Eastern time on Sep. 30, 2014 for nonstop travel on:  select markets and dates Dec. 30, 2014 through Jan. 28, 2015.Fares are one way and do not require roundtrip purchase.

Please keep in mind that Frontier is a carrier that charges extra for almost everything including seat assignments, carry-on bags, on-board drinks, etc.  If you are going to need to purchase any of those sort of things then factor that cost into the equation.

Even given those fees, being able to escape somewhere like Chicago or New York in the winter for sunny Miami sounds like a no-brainer to me!

  1. Every year my church has a ‘Super Saturday’ in which a few members volunteer to teach free workshops. I’m teaching ‘How I went to Europe for Free’ loosely based on your honeymoon model. I was wonder if you know of ANY outlets/sponsor that I could give away a few travel prize promotions. It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate. I was thinking under $50, just something to help spice up my class. My class is on Oct. 18th and I have 14 people that have signed up. I’m happy to provide any information or verification. I really appreciate your time.

  2. The reality is that you probably need to be retired or unemployed (or a college student on break?) to take advantage of Frontier’s $15 fares — they’re being offered on a couple of Tuesdays and Wednesdays right after the New Year’s holiday period.

The $39 fares have a little more availability, but not much: I actually looked at a January fare in one these new markets and Frontier wanted $121.

As a lot of these markets are also AA/US markets, you’ll save yourself a lot of hassle and gain a lot of convenience if you simply look for Avios award tickets. Buying gift cards at Staples with an Ink card, you can “purchase” an award ticket on many of these routes for less than $40. Seems like a much smarter way to travel cheap.

  3. Thanks! Used this to travel to Disney (Orlando) for our Mid-Winter Break! So excited to pay $550 for 4 tickets, compared to the $2,000 we were originally pricing out! Yes, we have to drive to Philly, but a flight deal like that can’t be beat! Love all your deals, thanks for sharing.
