Here’s a quick round-up of today’s miles and points news and updates…

Fly to Las Vegas for $21 on Frontier Airlines on new route from St. Louis:

Continuing the streak of crazy low economy fares, I’m happy to share another one on Frontier Airlines to/from St. Louis and Las Vegas for just $21!  Tickets must be purchased by 11:59 pm Eastern time on Oct. 28, 2014 for domestic, nonstop travel on Tuesdays from January 13, 2015 through February 10, 2015.  Fares are one-way and round trip purchase is not required. Do remember that Frontier is now a “low cost” airline that charges extra for pretty much everything. Frontier sale

Get a 50% bonus on Choice Privileges Points Purchased Today:

If you need a few more Choice Privileges points for a redemption near Atlantis, in Europe, or beyond, then today note that Choice is offering a 50% bonus for eight hours on purchased points.  I like to buy my Choice points during the annual Daily Getaways sales, but this isn’t a horrible alternative if you need points right now (although still a much pricier option at .73 cents per point instead of as low as .41 cents a point via the Daily Getaways).  I would not buy points at this price unless you need them for a pretty immediate redemption as the pricing still is not great and remember that with Choice you can only book awards 30 days out in the US and 60 days internationally unless you have elite status.  They also expire two years after they are earned on December 31st of that year, so certainly not worth “hoarding”.

SPG Moments Website Gets Update and Good Deal on Using Points to Stay at LINQ:

Linq Las VegasRecently the SPG Moments website got a facelift to make it easier to use and view opportunities where you can use SPG points for various events.  That redesign is worth checking out, but I also wanted to highlight a couple of redemption opportunities that seemed pretty decent.  First, you can redeem 15,000 SPG points for a two night stay at the LINQ in Las Vegas from November 6 – 8th, including two tickets to the Las Vegas High Roller observation wheel at The LINQ on Friday, November 7, 2014.  The LINQ itself is currently going for 44,000 SPG points for a two night stay those nights outside of the SPG Moments opportunity, so this is a big discount over that normal redemption rate.

It is also worth mentioning that if you are into music, you can currently redeem 5,000 SPG points for two premium tickets to see Lada Gaga in Barcelona on November 8th.
