IHG Share Forever Promo Registration Working

The IHG Share Forever promotion I wrote about yesterday seemed to be plagued with some technical issues for many folks, but I want to report that the registration link is working much better now.  Hopefully the link will stay up and functional from here on out so you can view your offer and register for the promo.  Even if you have no eligible IHG nights currently planned during the promo, it still is better to register and not need it than miss out on bonus points because you had some unexpected travel pop up.

My personalized offer maxes out at 71,500 bonus points for me and up to 58,500 points to share (or keep) with 45 eligible nights from May 1 – September 7th.  The nights have to be “qualified hotel night stays” in order to count.  Per the terms this means no award nights, distressed traveler rates, “friends and family rates”, bookings made via third parties, etc…

IHG Share Forever Promo

It is worth highlighting that the “free night award” prize is valid at the IHG hotels in the Americas region only, and the stay must be completed by June 30, 2016. The terms indicate the rooms are limited, subject to prior sale and availability of allocated resources and may be unavailable during high demand periods.  I personally haven’t had any problems booking my free award nights via promos with IHG in the past, but it is still important to keep those details in mind.

The friend that you designate to “share” gifts with must live in one of the countries eligible for the promotion, and if they live in Canada you must have a “family or personal relationship” with the recipient.  As opposed to gifting points and status to a stranger?

Were you able to register?  Will you be participating in the “Share Forever” promo?

  1. I read the Terms on the “Share Forever” promotion but I did not see that you could KEEP instead of Share the bonus points, did I miss it somewhere?

    • Lynn, that was in all the press release info, so I believe there is a way to designate yourself as the share recipient.

  2. And whatever you do, don’t pick a Canadian to share with:

Got to love IHG promos. Crème de la crème of promos…NOT!

    • Nick,

Unless your like me, live in the States and are originally from Canada and all your family is still there lol. What a bizarre rule though!

  3. I bought some IHG points from the AMEX Daily getaway. Do you know about how long it has been taking for the points to post. It’s been a week today for me with no points. 🙁

  4. I registered my DH and received same promotion as your description above. No instant win, either.

I will hold off registering for mine as I am a newer signup with no point balance. I was approved for the IHG credit card but it went to another address so I haven’t met the minimum spend yet. I hope holding off registering helps somehow. Hoping to call in request the 80K IHG points promo over the 70K one since I haven’t validated the card yet.

  5. Unless you cut off the screen shot prematurely, I read that as 26 nights needed for the total prize. With a goal of 6 nights, you reach extra bonuses at 3, 6, 10 and 20 nights past the 6th night. It appears to me that the clear reading is that the additional nights are not cumulative (although the points awarded are).

My challenge has exactly the same structure with only one difference — my initial goal is 4 nights (and 4K points). The bonuses kick also kick in at 3, 6, 10, and 20 nights and the bonus amounts are the same.

  6. I am also confused with you referring to 45 nights to get the full bonus.
All triggers seem to refer to the original goal of 6 nights in your case. 26 nights should qualify you to the full bonus.

Did you get other information from IHG to conclude you needed 45 nights? (other terms or rules)

    • No, you guys are right. In my case 26 nights so certainly better than 45. Not sure where my head was, but 26 for full bonus seems accurate.

  7. Do you know if nights booked before the promotion registration, but stayed during the promotion period will count?
