New Hotel Bonus Points Promos from SPG and Club Carlson!

Summer is typically a pretty busy travel season, so we typically don’t see the best hotel promos of the year happen during the summer months.  In fact, some hotel chains don’t even offer any global summer promos on certain years as they just don’t need to incentivize the incremental business since hotels are already full.  That being said, here are two new summer hotel promos that aren’t amazing, but are worth knowing about in case your travel plans take you to these hotel chains.

Starwood Preferred Guest Weekend Summer Promo:

SPG has launched a new SPG Weekends website to help their customers “make the most of their weekends by providing inspiration for weekend travel and adventure.”  You can check out their new site linked above, but the main reason I am sharing this info is that they also announced that from June 1 through August 31st you can earn 1,000 bonus SPG points when staying for two or more weekend nights at SPG hotels (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday).

Registration links and a promo page are still to come, so I’ll be sure to share when it is available.

Club Carlson 5,000 Bonus Points Promo:

Club Carlson is far from my favorite program right now given this and this, but in case you have some eligible paid Club Carlson stays planned in June or July, know that you can get 5,000 bonus points if you are an elite member who books a stay between May 4 – May 31, 2015.  Anyone who has the Club Carlson Premier Rewards Visa Signature® Card automatically has Gold status, so if you have that card you qualify for this promo.  There is no separate registration link for this promotion.

Club Carlson 5k Bonus

This should stack with the multitude of other Club Carlson promos that are out there right now including:

* The 5K Elite Summer Bonus Point Promotion (“Promotion”) is valid for 5,000 bonus Gold Points® (“Bonus Points”) on each Eligible Stay booked between May 4, 2015 and May 31, 2015 and completed between June 1, 2015 and July 31, 2015. You must be a Club CarlsonSM Elite member at the time of reservation to participate in the Promotion. “Eligible Stay” is defined in the Club Carlson Terms and Conditions. Stays paid for using Points + Cash are not eligible for this Promotion. Bonus Points will be credited when the standard Gold Points are credited for the Eligible Stay. Club Carlson reserves the right to add, modify, or discontinue the Promotion with or without notice. Void where prohibited by law. By participating in this Promotion, you agree and consent to these Terms and Conditions and the Club Carlson Terms and Conditions.

  1. I just got in on CC’s mega-mega for two stays; by a stroke of luck I’ll be at the Seattle airport twice in June, and hit the big three. I was so psyched seeing this that I missed out on the reservation via app, doing it on the computer, but as the dates aren’t set in stone I may even get in on the 1k extras still! I did the math, room rates top $250, but as I will have spent almost all of the rest of my points by the end of May to get those Bonus Nights booked I figured that it’s worth it.

  2. I don’t live anywhere near a Club Carlson but I want to take advantage of the 30,000 bonus points for a paid stay. I would love to have the points post soon because we are planning to travel on CC in August. I have family that live in cities with Club Carlson hotels…do you think I could pay for a family member’s stay online with my CC card, have them check in, and still get the points?
