Houston doesn’t get a ton of great deals on United operated nonstop flights, so when I see one available I like to go ahead and share it for my Bayou City neighbors.
This one is from Houston – San Jose, Costa Rica from $246 round trip for nonstop flights on United. I found some long weekends in September from $246, and Airfare Watch Dog found dates even over Labor Day weekend (though for much longer than just the weekend).
Dates at the lowest prices are limited, and I don’t expect this fare to hang around for very long, so move quickly if you want in and then cancel without penalty for the first 24 hours if you decide it won’t work for you after all.
Remember, if you want to save cash and still take advantage of this much lower than normal fare you can use points from your Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard® at a one point = one cent ratio and get 10% of those points back for redeeming for travel. That means a $246 fare would cost you a total of 22,140 points once you received the 10% back – plus the ticket would still be eligible to earn elite and redeemable miles with United!
