Since I covered some of the cheap flights to the Caribbean and Mexico that United this morning out of many US Airways/American Airlines hubs, it is only fair that I also mention the ones that have now popped up out of United hub cities.  This, my friends, is a good old fashioned fare war where the airlines “attack” each other’s hub cities with low fares and those who can move quickly enough to grab them win!

Via The Flight Deal, American/US Airways is offering flights starting just over $200 round trip from United Hub cities to select Mexico tourist destinations for travel from late August – February 2016.

These prices will not last long, and booking quickly when opportunities like this pop up is one of the ways that my family is able to travel the world for much less than average retail prices.  Using miles when prices are this low doesn’t usually make sense unless you are using points via a fixed value credit card so that you take advantage of the low prices while still keeping cash in your wallet.  To find the dates with the lowest prices I highly recommend using a flexible date search.  Some of the dates did require an overnight in transit, but other dates did not so keep trying different days if you don’t find what you want at first.
Remember also that when booking with American Airlines you can put a reservation on hold for 24 hours if you want to think over your options.
