If you aren’t following @JetBlueCheeps on Twitter then I recommend that you rectify that problem right now (and feel free to add me while you are in the adding mood @Mommy_Points), because they tweet out some really fun flash sales. Some of them are very, very date/time specific, as in you have to take the exact flight they are offering, but I think it is still fun to keep an eye on the deals even when they don’t line up with your availability.

For example, they just tweeted out numerous flash fares starting at just $15 one-way to fly from Boston to Nantucket on 9/17/16 at 3:50PM. Alternatively, you can fly that flight for just 300 JetBlue points + $5.60 in taxes. I’m not sure I have ever seen a flight for fewer than 300 points! For fun comparison purposes, the day before that, the 49 minute flight is $243.

That’s not even the only flight for just 300 points – check out the 5 hour New York JFK – Liberia, Costa Rica flight on 9/4 (day before Labor Day) for just 300 points + $23 in taxes/fees! That may be the best legitimate points deal I have ever seen. Ever.

There’s also….

  • New York JFK – Chicago for $20 (or 400 points)
  • Orlando – New York JFK for $40 (or 1,900 points)
  • New York JFK – Aruba for $50 (or 900 points)

…and about a dozen or so other heavily discount routes available.

Remember these crazy prices are just available for one specific flight, and you will still need to find a way back home using cash, miles, or points. Still, the idea of being able to fly from New York to Costa Rica for just 300 JetBlue points and $23 in taxes/fees is crazy awesome and fun to dream about even if it doesn’t work for you. If you do take that trip, consider spending 15,000 Hyatt points per night (or Chase Ultimate Reward points transferred to Hyatt) to stay at the nearby Category 4 Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort to put together an amazing points-fueled vacation!
