To celebrate their fifth birthday, WOW Air is offering one-way tickets to Europe via a connection in Iceland for just $55 from Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Miami! WOW Air is pretty much like the Spirit Airlines of the TransAtlantic network, so you have to pay extra for everything, but at $55 per ticket, that is still a heck of a deal for the right traveler!
Note that these tickets are going very quickly and travel dates are very limited, but there are summer travel dates available so even families could get in on this deal. I love the idea of being able to fly to Edinburgh for just $55! That is truly insane, even if it is on WOW.
The $55 tickets are available from:
- San Francisco (SFO) to Amsterdam (AMS), Copenhagen (CPH), Dublin (DUB), London (LGW) and Berlin (SXF) via Iceland. Available for travel June 11th to June 28th.
- Los Angeles (LAX) to Amsterdam (AMS), Copenhagen (CPH), Dublin (DUB), London (LGW) and Berlin (SXF) via Iceland. Available for travel June 19th to June 28th.
- Miami (MIA) to Bristol (BRS), Brussels (BRU), Dublin (DUB), Edinburgh (EDI), Dusseldorf (DUS), Copenhagen (CPH), Frankfurt (FRA) and Cork (ORK) via Iceland. Available for travel June 18th to June 28th.
I recommend using Google Flights to quickly spot the cheapest days remaining and then booking very quickly.
Remember you can take advantage of crazy low fares like these while still using points and keeping cash in your wallet by using a fixed valued rewards credit card to pay for your airfare. You can then use points to offset the charge in your account as long as the charge meets the minimum redemption threshold. For two $55 tickets, for a total of just $110 to Europe, it would cost you 11,000 points and you would get 5% of those redeemed points back for a final total cost of 10,450 points for two flights to Europe! That is insane. To get back you can simply use miles on another airline if you can’t find a cash price you like.
I would love to know if you pull the trigger on one of these $55 flights to Europe!
