An airline route I keep a close eye on is Houston – New York City, and right now United is offering tickets about as cheap as they ever get starting at $60 one-way for flights beginning later this summer and stretching all the way into mid-February! To avoid Basic Economy you have to spend $80 (or a little less if you are eligible for this discount), but even that is still a very good price for that market.
I’m not seeing as many $60 returns from Newark – Houston, but they are there, just not as plentiful.
These fares are usually only on the early flights to Newark and the later evening flights coming back to Houston, but for $120+ round trip it could be worth the off-peak travel times. You can search for the cheapest flights on United using flexible dates, via Google Flights, SkyScanner, etc.
Anyone else jump on these $60+ flights?
