Temporary Bonus: Transfer ThankYou Points to Hilton at 1:2 Ratio

One of the transfer partners of the Citi ThankYou program is Hilton Honors. Normally the transfer ratio is 1,000 Citi ThankYou points = 1,500 Hilton Honors points, but through September 20, 2017, the ratio is improved temporarily to a 1:2 ratio where 1,000 ThankYou points will become 2,000 Hilton Honors points!

Even at a 1:2 ratio it isn’t going to always make sense to transfer from Citi to the Hilton program since Hilton points are generally only worth about a 1/2 a cent or so, and you can often do better with your ThankYou points. However, there are exceptions to every rule, so if you have a particularly lucrative Hilton redemption in mind and need to pad your account with some extra points, this could be a decent way to do it.

Do you have plans to transfer from Citi to Hilton Honors by September 20, 2017, at 1:2 ratio?

  1. Definitely not, ever since the recent devaluation I’ve been having a hard enough time trying to find a reasonable redemption for the points I already have. Its so much harder not to find good or sweet spot redemptions, especially in the US.
