A few days ago I wrote about how you can earn up to 3,000 bonus United miles with online shopping in the next few weeks, but now a new back to school themed shopping bonus has appeared from American Airlines. This time you can earn up to 2,000 bonus American miles for your cumulative online shopping purchases via the AAdvantage eShopping site from July 23, 2017 – August 18, 2017.

The Blue Business℠ Plus Credit Card from American Express

Earn Up To 2,000 Bonus American AAdvantage Miles:

You can earn one of the following bonuses for your eligible purchases from July 23, 2017 – August 18, 2017.

  • Spend $150, get 500 bonus miles
  • Spend $300, get 1,000 bonus miles
  • Spend $500, get 2,000 bonus miles

Earn Big By Stacking Offers

As the individual retailers try to attract your Back to School dollars, I expect we will see some stores increases their bonuses, and that will stack nicely with this sitewide offer. For example, ShoeMall.com is currently awarding 10x AAdvantage miles per dollar for purchases. If you had $150 in shoe purchases to make you could earn 1,500 miles from your ShoeMall.com purchase made by first clicking from the AAdvantage Shopping site, and that would ensure you triggered at least the 500 bonus miles offer mentioned above for a total of 2,000 miles for just $150 in online purchases.

Of course I also recommend tracking your purchases with the Citi Price Rewind tool so you can easily get money back via statement credits if the price drops in the 60 days following purchase if you paid with a Citi credit card.

I don’t think this will be the end of the Back to School shopping bonuses, so I will keep you in the loop so you can turn backpacks, shoes, uniforms, jeans, and more into next year’s trips!

  1. Thank you for the heads up!
Peculiar that Cartera runs these simultaneous promos (UA, AA)
Unfortunately, I have found that it is extremely difficult to use my AA miles lately, making them essentially worthless.
