I haven’t posted about Frontier Airlines and their occasional crazy fare sales in a while, so when I saw their $20 flights in my inbox this morning, I decided it was time to remind anyone interested how you can fly for literally less than the cost of a bus ticket or even a tank of gas. Yes, it is on Frontier and pretty much everything costs extra on that low cost airline, but either pack in a backpack and call it good, or factor in a little extra on top of the crazy low airfares for larger carry-ons, assigned seats, on-board drinks, etc.
Here are some current super cheap bookable flights that start in mid-August and continue on until early March on some routes! The cheapest days to fly will usually be Tuesdays and Wednesdays with some blackout dates. Sometimes, but not always, the cheapest flights require their Discount Den membership.
With some of the routes the first price listed is for Discount Den members, and the second price listed is for non-members. If you are going to book a trip on Frontier for multiple people, Discount Den membership may be worth it as it costs $49.99 for a full year’s membership and the discount applies to up to six people on the reservation.
- Atlanta – Cincinnati: $20/$35
- Houston – Atlanta: $20/$35
- Charlotte – Orlando: $19/$34
- Las Vegas – Colorado Springs: $20/$35
- Denver – Dallas: $20
- Houston – Denver: $34/$49
- Austin – San Diego: $44/$59
- New York – Cincinnati: $29/$41
- Los Angeles – Colorado Springs: $29/$49
Honestly, being able to fly a family of four somewhere such as Texas to Colorado and back for just $160 is totally mind-blowing to me, even if larger carry-ons and assigned seats cost extra. Of course you could avoid spending any out-of-pocket cash by paying with points from your favorite card to take advantage of low fares without spending real cash.
Have you ever jumped on one of these super cheap Frontier fares?
