The United MileagePlus Shopping site has two bonuses that just launched, one that awards up to 1,500 bonus United miles based on your cumulative spending on the site by October 13, 2017. The other offers increased miles on some specific retailers that will seemingly rotate on Mondays this fall.
Earn 1,500 Bonus United Miles on MileagePlus Shopping
First, the sitewide United MileagePlus shopping bonus runs from 10/02/17 – 10/13/17, and with it, you can earn a one-time bonus of up to 1,500 miles. The one-time bonus has two tiers based on your online spending that originates from the site during the bonus timeframe.
The two available bonuses are:
- 500 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $150
- 1,500 miles for qualifying purchases of at least $350+
If you aren’t familiar with the United MileagePlus shopping site, on there are literally hundreds of popular stores available such as Gap, Old Navy, Saks, Apple, J.Crew, Home Depot, Minted, Pottery Barn, Macy’s, and a gazillion others. All you do is go to the United Shopping website, click on the name of the retailer you want to visit, and then you are taken to the same retailer website that you know and love to make your purchase like normal.
Earn 40x United Miles Per Dollar at Specific Retailers
While on the United shopping website checking out the sitewide bonus I also spotted some retailer specific increases that look like they will rotate each Monday this fall. This week’s increased retailer payouts include:
- Magazines.com 40x
- New Balance 15x
- Living Social 10x
Of course, these retailer-specific increases would stack with the sitewide shopping bonus, so if for whatever reason you needed to make $150 in purchases from Magazines.com this week, you could earn 6,000 United miles from the 40 miles per dollar spent at Magazines.com + 500 bonus miles for a cumulative spending of $150 on the United shopping site. This is a total of 6,500 United miles for $150 in purchases, which is incredible assuming you would have made those purchases anyway.
You will also still earn miles when you pay for your purchase with the rewards earning credit card of your choice. These sort of mileage bonuses usually aren’t game-changers by themselves, but they absolutely do add up over the course of a year, so don’t leave easy miles on the table when doing your online shopping.
