My daughters, my mom, and I recently visited the beautiful Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in the Bahamas and overall had an absolutely fantastic time. I already shared our Bahamas trip planning process but promised to delve into more details in subsequent posts.

I still have detailed posts coming soon on the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar rooms, amenities and activities, Club Lounge, food, pools, beach, and the process of heading to Atlantis for the day, however for those of you that want to get a feel for those topics by watching instead of reading, here’s your chance.

You can learn a little bit about all of those Grand Hyatt Baha Mar related topics in less than three minutes by watching the “Inside the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar” video I just uploaded to YouTube! I’m not a video editing pro, so since these videos take hours to make, I decided it was worth a post all its own. If you like the video and want to give it a thumbs up or subscribe to our YouTube Channel, that would be great since, apparently, those things matter a bit in YouTube-Land.

I promise detailed written posts on this trip will follow shortly for those who prefer written words and pictures to videos. I hope you enjoy the video sneak peek and I can’t wait to share more about the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar and our family trip to the Bahamas in the coming days!

  1. Your reviews are the best! How is your home? Are you done with fixing your roof? I heard that there is skilled construction worker shortage in Houston

    • Thanks! Yes we actually just finished putting our rooms back together over the weekend. Such a good feeling and thanks for checking on us.

  2. Just viewed the clip, and it was terrific! The short but descriptive comments, the music, and the excellent video recording made me want to book a stay at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar for this winter. Will do that upon my return from The Big Apple later this week. Thank you, Summer. Your posts truly are the BEST–even for those of us who no longer travel with young children.

  3. Thank you guys! I’m trying to figure out the best way to make the videos helpful for you guys, so glad to know this one might be on the right path. To answer a few questions, yes it was very empty. I heard something about 20% occupancy, but don’t quote me on that. It certainly didn’t feel any more full than that. Not all of the room types are even finished/open, though many restaurants, shops, bars, etc. are now open so it feels like a fully functional hotel that just doesn’t have many guests at the moment. I think this is an off-season for them, so that explains part of it.

We were worried about hurricanes as so many this season got close, but this island in the Bahamas is doing just fine.

  4. Unfortunately, explorists CANNOT use their passes for the Club lounge at this property.

Hello Jeff! Currently Club Lounge access is reserved for globalist, lifetime globalist and courtesy card holders.

    • So I’ve heard both successes and problems. In time I am sure it will all be sorted and easy, but there are already success stories with using the Explorist pass for lounge access here. In addition, their above statement is not true as they have been selling club access for as little as $50 for up to four people at check-in, so I think the wires just aren’t all aligned yet. They tried to sell it to us for $100 at check-in before I pointed out we had Globalist status, I would try to go through Hyatt Concierge to use your pass.

  5. Do they have entertainment for kids and adults, besides the pools. Is there music at the pool, or any entertainment during day or at night? Your video was awesome, and I’m now very interested in this resort!!

    • So glad you liked the video! There was an outdoor band one night and singers in the jazz type bar in the evenings we were there. I think that evening entertainment is probably a weaker spot if you are looking for something outside of the restaurants, casinos, and bars, but they did have music somewhere each night we were there. Rumor has it they are working towards eventually having a water park and kid’s arcade, but that is probably well off into the future for now.
