We have been traveling the last five days, so now that we are home, I am playing catch-up on the Black Friday deals as they relate to miles, points, and travel. I think a good place to start is on the new big bonuses you can get shopping at Walmart or Best Buy with a few different Chase credit cards via Chase Pay.

Earn 10x Points at Walmart.com Via Chase Freedom Offers

The Chase Freedom already awarded 5x points at Walmart this quarter as one of the quarterly 5x bonus categories (assuming you activated your card), up to the $1,500 quarterly max for earning 5x at Walmart and department stores. However, now you can get an extra 5% (aka an extra 5x) when you check out on Walmart.com using Chase Pay from 11/15/17 – 12/14/17 on up to $325 in purchases.

If you haven’t already maxed out your regular Freedom 5x bonus at Walmart.com this quarter, then you can earn a total of 10x points on $325 spent at Walmart.com using Chase Pay on your Chase Freedom between now and December 14, 2017.

Earn 10x Points at Walmart.com via Chase Sapphire Reserve

The Chase Sapphire Reserve normally awards one point per dollar at Walmart.com, but will also be awarding a total of 10 points per dollar from 11/15/17–12/14/17, if you use Chase Pay on up to $325 in purchases.

Earn 10x Points at Walmart.com via Chase Freedom Unlimited

The Chase Freedom Unlimited normally awards 1.5x everywhere, but this card is also for the offer of a total of 10x points per dollar spent at Walmart.com from 11/15/17–12/14/17, if you use Chase Pay on up to $325 in purchases.

If you had all three cards and maxed out the promo at $975 in Chase Pay purchases at Walmart.com that would come to 9,750 points from Chase for your shopping efforts.

Earn 10x at Best Buy With Chase Pay

There is also a very similar promo available at Best Buy from November 20, 2017 – December 24, 2017, using Chase Pay. You can earn a total of 10x points at Best Buy on the Freedom Unlimited, FreedomSapphire, or Sapphire Reserve, though that promo is capped at $400 per eligible card and is an in-store offer as opposed to online. In addition to all the Black Friday deals on electronics and such, Best Buy also sells Visa gift cards and the like.

Will you be making use of one of these Chase Pay 10x holiday offers at Best Buy or Walmart.com?

Thanks to Reddit and Slick Deals for spotting these offers!

  1. I’m wondering if you could buy a $325 gift card through the Ultimate Rewards shopping portal to get another 2% back for a total of 12%. Worth a shot if gift cards count…

    • I tried this and the ‘fine print’, after you leave Chase and head to Walmart.com, says that the 2x doesn’t apply to gift cards.

        • Unfortunately, I was not successful buying gift cards on Walmart.com. I followed Doctor of Credit’s advice to use “chat” and ask them why. They said they could not process the transactions out of “protection against fraud.” Apparently, Doctor of Credit’s site says there have been a lot of problems with Walmart.com canceling people’s orders for gift cards. Luckily, I don’t have a lot I want to buy at Walmart anyhow.
