Happy December! If you thought time was flying in the last few weeks, just wait as things will really speed up now that December has arrived. If one of the things still on your December to-do list involves online shopping, then know that I fully expect the various airline shopping portals to launch some “last minute” mileage bonuses in the coming days.

The Blue Business℠ Plus Credit Card from American Express

In fact, the first one of these bonuses is already live over at AAdvantage eShopping via their “Last Minute Holiday Bonus Miles” promotion. The bonus launched today, December 1st, and will run until December 17, 2017.

Via this bonus, if you spend a cumulative $150 at retailers via AAdvantage eShopping in that timeframe, then you will receive 500 bonus miles. If you spend a cumulative $300, you will receive 1,500 bonus AAdvantage miles. At the $150 threshold that works out to an extra 3.33 AAdvantage miles per dollar if you spend exactly $150 and at exactly the $300 threshold that works out to an extra 5 AAdvantage miles per dollar, which isn’t too shabby.

This is a one-time bonus and you can earn either bonus tier, but not both bonus tiers. You will also earn the regular number of miles per dollar at your selected retailer. Some current example retailer payouts via AAdvantage eShopping are:

  • Macy’s 5x
  • Neiman Marcus 5x
  • eBags 10x
  • New Balance 7x

You will also earn miles or points by paying for your purchase with your rewards credit card of choice. By stacking all of those various ways to earn, you can end up with a pretty healthy haul of miles and points!
