Earn 6x Miles (or more) at Apple.com – Today Only!

One store where it is notoriously hard to rack up large numbers of miles even though the purchase prices are often pretty high is Apple. Apple is often at just 1 – 2 miles per dollar when other retailers can sometimes go in the 10 – 15 miles per dollar range via the various airline shopping sites. However, the mileage earning totals do spike at Apple.com on rare occasion, and today is one of those occasions, so get to ordering if an Apple product is on your holiday wish list.

Today only (12/14/17), you can earn 6 American Airlines miles per dollar spent at Apple.com! This will also stack with the American Airlines Last Minute Shopping Bonus of up to 1,500 bonus miles if you spend $300 or more.

Of note is that the iPhone X and Apple TV 4k are not eligible to earn miles per the terms, though it does not exclude the Apple Watch 3 as most sites have been doing recently. I might have ordered one of those recently and was quite annoyed when it was an excluded item by pretty much all of the mileage earning/cashback sites at the time!

Using the Apple Watch 3 as an example, the version with cellular starts at $399. If you purchased that today via the American Airlines portal you would earn about 2,394 miles for the purchase at 6x miles per dollar plus trigger the 1,500 mile last minute bonus, assuming you haven’t already made use of that offer, for a total of 3,894 American Airlines miles for that one purchase that often wouldn’t earn more than a few hundred miles through a shopping portal. You would also earn rewards on whichever rewards credit card you use to pay the purchase, which in my view should be one that offers built-in purchase protections.

This increased Apple.com payout is valid today only, so don’t forget to get items out of your cart and into your hands if you want to earn extra miles.

  1. I need a new cell phone and would and specifically looking for the iPhone 8. I hear there is going to be a sale on Apple products this Sunday at Best Buy but I don’t know which ones. Would love to know which ones???? I love points but would love to save some money too.

    • Gosh I don’t know. If you buy with a credit card that has price protection (most do), that could cover you if the price drops, but if they don’t drop the price but rather bundle with a gift card or something that won’t be covered. You could always just leave it in box and return if you find a better deal in a few days.
