A couple weeks ago I shared a peek into some information originating from the Denver City Council that sure did make it seem very likely that an Amex Centurion Lounge was coming to Denver, and now Amex is ready to officially confirm that ‘rumor’. A brand new American Express Centurion Lounge is indeed coming to the Mile High City in 2019 at Denver International Airport. This airport needed a high-quality lounge in a bad way, so this is truly fantastic for all travelers who enjoy Amex Centurion Lounges.

As was rumored, this specific lounge will indeed be the second largest Centurion Lounge at over 14,000 square feet and it will be located in the C Concourse Mezzanine. The largest Amex Centurion Lounge, a two-level lounge coming in at over 15,000 square feet is also scheduled to open in 2019 at JFK in New York. Since all DEN terminals are connected by train airside, anyone with some time to spare traveling to, from, or through DEN with a Platinum Card® should be able to visit the lounge along with up to two complimentary guests.

Amex has specifically confirmed to me that there will be a family room at this Denver Centurion Lounge location, which is fantastic news for families and non-families alike. Not all Centurion Lounges have had family rooms, so I am relieved that they are not backing away from offering that amenity when the space allows. I have not been able to get Amex to confirm or deny that a family room will be included at the new JFK location.

I look forward to enjoying this new Centurion Lounge on a trip through Denver in 2019, and also hopefully checking out the new Centurion Lounge coming to DFW later this year. Where would you like to see a Centurion Lounge pop up next?

  1. I still wish they’d relax the Immediate Family restriction…4 kids plus 2 parents = expensive to get us all in the lounge now 🙁

    • Oh I so agree. I am an AU on my husband’s Platinum so we can all get in, but obviously that makes annual membership a little more expensive.

      • It’s strange that AMEX would still include family rooms in their lounges with such a restrictive guesting policy for immediate family…

If we flew as a family more often where AMEX lounges were I’d be more aggressive on AU or similar options.
