Sometimes your rewards credit cards can really ramp up your points-earning capabilities by awarding bonus points (or even cash back) on purchases you were going to make anyway. One of the ways this can work is via Amex Offers that you can add to your various American Express issued cards by logging into your Amex account and scrolling down to the Amex Offers section of the page.
If you have an Amex Offer you really like available on more than one of your Amex cards, you can have it pulled up and ready to add to each card in multiple windows, and then you should be able to add it to each card in quick succession. However, if you have it added to one card before it is open in unique windows ready to add to the others, then you may only be able to add it to one of your cards.
You never know which unique Amex Offers will be available on your specific accounts, but here are a few travel-related Amex Offers that were available on our Amex cards and may be worth a look.
Earn 10,000 bonus Membership Reward points with $600 in hotels via AmexTravel.com
Get 10,000 additional Membership Rewards points one-time by using your enrolled card to make a single purchase of $600+ for a prepaid hotel booking online at amextravel.com by 07/15/2018. See terms for exclusions. This offer is not valid for American Express Travel offices, phone orders, or for transactions made via online chat. Offer not valid for Car or Cruise bookings. Offer not valid for the flight portion of a flight+hotel package. Valid only on US website.
I did some digging on this one and it can make sense for hotels that you weren’t going to book directly with the hotel chain anyway. In some cases, you can also get a $75 credit and shot at a room upgrade if the hotel is part of the Hotel Collection, you stay two nights or more, and you have a Premier Rewards Gold Card or Platinum Card®. A fun example of this can be seen at the Loews Sapphire Falls Hotel at Universal Orlando which is indeed part of the Hotel Collection.
If you booked a two-night stay at Sapphire Falls on a weekend this summer, it could ring it right at about $600. If you booked the hotel via AmexTravel.com with the above referenced Amex Offer, you would get 10,000 bonus Membership Reward points valued at $150 – $200. You would also earn 5x points on the charge if you paid with your Platinum Card, for a total of 3,000 points from the $600 charge. You would also get a $75 on-property credit for your two-night or longer stay since it is part of the Hotel Collection. Earning up to 13,000 Membership Reward points + getting a $75 resort credit on a $600 hotel stay isn’t a bad deal if that is where you wanted to stay.
Remember that staying at the Loews Sapphire Falls does not get you included Universal Express passes, but it is a nice Universal on-property resort that I recently enjoyed. While we are talking about Orlando, know that you can also book many Disney properties via AmexTravel.com.

Excludes prescription and photo purchases made via Sam’s Club mobile app, Sam’s Club fuel, and third Party Services offered to Sam’s Club Members (Auto Buying Program, Payroll, Stationary, Checks, Healthcare, Legal Zoom, Photo Center, Business Payment Solutions, Samsclubcontacts.com, Accounting Services, Business Lending Center, Identity Protection Service, Business Printing). Offer valid on items shipped in the US.
SamsClub.com sells discounted gift cards to places such as Disney, Starbucks, Southwest, Outback, and more.
As a SamsClub.com member, I can normally purchase $150 in Disney gift cards for $142.98, but if I pay with an Amex with this Amex Offer, that will drop my true price for $150 in Disney gift cards to just $127.98. This is a good offer considering how tough it can be to get decent discounts at Disney.
If you wanted to pick-up gift cards to some chain restaurants, you could potentially save even more. Gift cards to dozens and dozens of chain restaurants including places like Kolache Factory, Luby’s, Smash Burger, Boston Market, and Fuddruckers can be purchased at a rate of $39.98 for $50 in gift cards at SamsClub.com. With this $15 Amex Offer, you would be picking up $50 in gift cards for just $24.98 out of pocket once the statement credit posts, which is obviously a great deal if you regularly eat at one of those locations.
Do you have any of these or other new Amex Offers available on your cards that might help you save money or earn bonus points on your next travel adventure?
