Earlier this year, American Express became the sole issuer of the family of Hilton co-branded credit cards, and when that happened, they launched their new card line-up with some pretty exciting bonuses of up to 100,000 points. But today, things get even better for the family Hilton Amex cards. If you haven’t already pulled the trigger on one of these Amex Hilton products, your timing paid off because the bonuses are temporarily even better via some limited time offers that will run only until June 27, 2018.
Limited-time Hilton Amex Offers Available Until June 27th
The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card: Limited time offer of 125,000 Hilton Honors bonus points after you spend $5,000 in purchases in the first 3 months.
Hilton Honors Ascend Card from American Express: Limited time offer of 100,000 Hilton Honors bonus points after you spend $3,000 in purchases in the first 3 months. Plus, earn a free weekend award night after your first anniversary of card membership.
Which Limited-Time Hilton Amex Card is Best
If your main goal is as Hilton Honors points as possible to use as you wish, the largest offer in terms of sign-up bonus points is available for a limited-time via The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card. This bonus is increased to 125,000 bonus Hilton Honors points that can be yours after $5,000 in purchases on the card in the first 3 months. Obviously, as a small business card, this is only open to those who have some sort of small or side business. The upside of that small business designation is that it will not impact your Chase 5/24 status.
This card will also give you automatic Hilton Honors Gold status, and you have the option of earning Hilton Honors Diamond status with $40,000 in eligible purchases on the card each year. Hilton Honors Gold status gets you things like additional points on stays, space available upgrades, late check-out, and even free snacks or breakfast, depending on the type of Hilton property you are visiting. You will also have access to free 10 Priority Pass Select visits at over 1,000 participating airport lounge locations around the world.
The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card also awards up to two weekend Hilton award nights each year based on your total purchases in that calendar year. If your total eligible purchases on the card reach $15,000 or more during a calendar year, you will receive one Weekend Night Reward from Hilton Honors. If you make an additional $45,000 in purchases in that same calendar year, totaling $60,000 in cumulative spend in that year, you will receive a second Weekend Night Reward from Hilton.
That’s a lot of spending, but it is also pretty darn unique to be able to earn two weekend award nights valid on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, at the majority of the Hilton properties around the world every single year from just one credit card. You have one year to redeem the weekend night awards from the time they are issued and here are the few exception properties where you can not use the awards.
If you want to be able to access a Hilton weekend award without a set amount of spending on the card, then the limited-time offer from the Hilton Honors Ascend Card from American Express may be the one to consider. With this limited-time offer, you get 100,000 Hilton Honors bonus points after you spend $3,000 in purchases in the first 3 months and a weekend award night after your first anniversary of card membership. That weekend award night at the first anniversary is the especially unique part of this bonus. You can use that weekend award night at Hilton properties around the world, making it essentially worth up to 95,000 points per night as that is the upper end of the pricing for standard rooms. If you want to earn another weekend award night, you can do that with $15,000 in spending on the card in a calendar year.
With this card, you also get automatic Hilton Gold elite status as well as 10 complimentary Priority Pass Select lounge visits each year. I think for many family travelers, this card is the right call as I personally value a weekend award night very highly since it can be used at Hilton properties around the world.
If you simply want a very good limited-time offer on a card that does not have an annual fee, then the Hilton Honors Card from American Express is the way to go. Until June 27, 2018, you can get 75,000 bonus Hilton Honors points with just $1,000 in eligible purchases within the first 3 months. This card gives you automatic Hilton Honors Silver status, but if you really wanted to use the card to go for Gold status, that is possible with $20,000 on purchases in a calendar year.
Given the limited-time bonus levels of these cards, you can’t really go wrong with any of them. Each product is considered a unique product, so having one version of the Hilton Amex now or in the past should not impact your ability to get a different version. The one caveat to that is having the Hilton Honors Surpass Card now or in the past does exclude you per the terms from getting the bonus on the Hilton Ascend Card.
I’d love to hear which one of these Hilton Amex limited time offers is your favorite!
