We used miles and points to put together a surprise Ryder Cup ‘experience of a lifetime’ for my dad on Father’s Day a few years ago, and it was worth every mile and point! I’d love to hear about any Father’s Day surprises you have pulled off to celebrate the dads in your life.

  1. It wasn’t a surprise, but four years ago when my parents took us to Japan, I got to spend Father’s Day with my dad and my son. The only time that has ever happened since we live in LA and m parents live in. Boston. I’m in Boston right now, so I got to spend Father’s Day with my dad today.

I would totally jump on the NHL draft offer, but I don’t get to DFW until the following week.

    • That is awesome that you were all together in Japan with three generations and in Boston with your dad today. Sorry to hear you are missing the draft by a week!

  2. Thank you for this post, MP. I hadn’t known of the HH auctions, which could make a nice little getaway to see the likes of the wonderful Dierks, or Brad, or Lady Antebellum etc, and to utilize points which are (otherwise) disappointingly low-valued. This is yet another example of your wonderful perspective on life and family, which leads to unique posts like this (including tying in Father’s Day; I send a belated one to your hubby). It also makes me think that I’d be happy to pick some tickets up for GP if it leads to another of his fantastic posts detailing the trip! 10k HH pts for a GP report??!! Now, *that* would make HH points valuable to me!
(Seriously, I hope he takes me up on the offer) 🙂
