Use Your Hilton Points to Stay at These All-Inclusive Properties!

Travel using miles and points is amazing, but it is rarely actually “free”, even if parts of the trip are indeed free or very close to it. Normally, even if you book your flights on miles and your hotel on points you are still looking at real costs for food, activities, and potentially even kid’s clubs or babysitting if you splurge. However, if you use your points to stay at all inclusive properties then you really can stretch just how…

Booking Award Stays at Hyatt Ziva All-Inclusives With Children Two and Under

I am a very, very big fan of the all-inclusive Hyatt properties. I’m not a typical all-you-can-eat-and-drink girl just for the heck of it, so my expectations going into an all-inclusive situation were tempered. However, the Hyatt Ziva Cancun was everything my family wanted from a beach vacation and more. It has almost been a year since our stay and I seriously can’t wait to find an excuse to get back there.   The one downside to a family stay at…

The Pools and Beaches at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun

For spring break this year we ditched our complicated and extensive itinerary to Australia and New Zealand and instead made the much smarter and closer to home decision to head to the all-inclusive Hyatt Ziva Cancun. With two young kids, and especially a baby who doesn’t sleep well, this was the best decision we could have possibly made. Of course, it helped that the resort was amazing, bookable on points, and we scored a two-story 1,300 square foot suite! You…

Two Story Pyramid Suite at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun

After we arrived and completed the check-in process at the all-inclusive Hyatt Ziva Cancun Resort, we happily headed towards our two-story 1,300 square foot Pyramid Suite. Suites are always nice, but once you have a couple of kids along for the ride, they take on a whole new level of “nice”. This is especially true when the kids are young and need naps or don’t sleep well at night. That “extra” space becomes very important and very well utilized in…

Getting to the Hyatt Ziva Cancun All-Inclusive Resort

My ideal vacation right now would consist of a dark room, a comfortable bed, a white noise machine, unlimited sleep, and no responsibilities for a few days (or even a few hours?!). However, since that is still unattainable, the next best thing is a trip to a quality resort with fun pools for kids, good food, yummy drinks, and on-site child care that is available using points. In other words, the all-inclusive Hyatt Ziva Cancun was as close to perfect as we are…

Did Your Credit Card Sign-Up Bonus Get You This?

Back when I was in college I remember folding tables set-up around the University of Texas with people handing out things like baseball caps in exchange for a credit card application. I mean, come on, at least give a college student a burrito! I thankfully never applied for a card in exchange for a hat (or burrito), but I absolutely did apply for a credit card with a sign-up bonus that got me this. And this. And this. And all of this we…

Getting Max Value for Hyatt Credit Card Nights

The Chase Hyatt Credit Card offers a sign-up bonus that awards two free nights at any Hyatt worldwide after you spend $1,000 on the card in the first three months. Since there are some absolutely amazing Hyatt properties around the world, this is a very good sign-up bonus. The “catch” is that you have one year to use the two free nights after earning them, so you need to be strategic about when you sign-up for the card since the award…

Earn 12,000 Bonus Points at Hyatt All-Inclusive Properties

I just finished writing our reviews of the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall in Montego Bay, and I’ve been thinking about how nice it was to have all the accommodations, meals, and activities rolled into one all-inclusive price.  Of course I really loved that the price was just Hyatt Gold Passport points in our case, but even if it was a good cash price, having the burden of vacation budgeting lifted is not insignificant for most of us. Today I saw…

Included Activities at the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall in Jamaica!

For our final post on our time at the all-inclusive Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall in Jamaica I want to cover some of the activities that are available at the resort.  For some the only activities they are after in Jamaica are the obvious ones of eating, drinking, and enjoying the pool and/or beach.  However, for those who want to be a tad more active than lifting one Red Stripe or Rum Punch after the next while working on their tan,…

Confirmed: All-Inclusive Resorts for Just 15,000 Points

When Wyndham Rewards switched from a traditional tiered award chart over to a flat 15,000 point per night redemption program earlier this month there was much confusion over how this applied to their all-inclusive properties.  Wyndham has six all-inclusive properties under the Viva Wyndham Resort collection and they were pricing online at the 15,000 point level on dates that had availability – even for a family of two adults and two children! Update: Beginning at some point in 2017, I…
