A “Vegas Vacation” Part 2: D Stands for…

As I shared yesterday, our short weekend family work trip to Vegas didn’t exactly start off as well as we could have hoped. In short, our transportation to the hotel didn’t show, our room at the Bellagio was still dirty when we opened it, I ran late to an event, our baby didn’t sleep for one minute in the crib all night, we had no fewer than four trips down to the check-in area to address issues, the only rental car they…

Come Learn About Miles and Points in Las Vegas

Most of you probably have no need or interest in learning about miles and points in person, but some people learn best face to face, or they simply want to network with others who share this same glorious hobby. If you fall into one of those later categories then there is an event coming up that you will want to consider. The “Signature Frequent Traveler University Event” in Las Vegas is at the end of the month from April 29 –…

Getting Started With Miles and Points Presentation

A couple of times a year I get the opportunity to present about miles, points, and family travel in person at various conferences around the country.  Every single time I do it, I thoroughly enjoy meeting other miles and points enthusiasts, and there is always the chance to learn something new.  Since I don’t want people to feel like they have to jot down notes in my session, so I always promise to share the slides online afterwards. I’m also…

Next Advanced Frequent Traveler University Conferences Announced

The biggest Frequent Traveler University of the year just wrapped up (and I will be posting slides from my sessions in the next day or two for those interested), but as that event closed the next two events were announced and put on sale.  As was previously announced, there will not be another large FTU event with a “basic” track available in 2015, but they are offering at least two more FTU Advanced sessions offered this year.  Historically, the demand…

Join Upcoming Frequent Flyer Flights: Inaugural 787 Flights, MegaDos, and More!

Most of you probably got into the “miles and points” world just to save money on travel, so did I.  However, as you may or may not know, there is a whole community of miles, points, and travel junkies that meets up and does things in “the real world”, too.  You may have no time or interest in that, and I totally understand.  However, if you are interested in taking your online hobby out for a spin with real people,…

Schedule Released for Only Frequent Traveler University in 2015

A few times a year I pack up and head off to a frequent flyer conference to talk miles and points with anyone who wants to listen and chat.  I almost always have a great time and learn something new at those conferences.  If you like learning and chatting face to face, then one of the hardest things to do is to actually narrow down which one of these types of conferences to go to since there have been an…

Presentations from Frequent Traveler University

Last weekend I presented a couple of sessions at the USA Today Frequent Traveler University in Washington DC.  These events are always so much fun as it is pretty exhilarating to be around others who are as excited about miles, points, and travel as I am!  I am always so grateful to have stumbled into such as an amazing hobby after being around a couple hundred other like-minded people at one of these events. At this particular event I presented…

Tickets for Frequent Traveler University Dallas on Sale Today

Update:  Many apologies for the changing info, but I was just informed the FTU launch has been delayed until 11AM Eastern tomorrow (Thursday).  I wouldn’t put this sale time in ink on your calendar yet since they are still resolving technical issues on this site, but that is the new “live” target. For some people, information just “clicks” when you hear it in person and face-to-face.  If you fall into that learning style category, or if you just really want…

Learn about Miles and Points Face to Face!

Learning about miles and points on the internet is a great and easy way for even busy families to learn about deals and opportunities at their own pace.  That’s all that many will ever need to earn and use miles and points to take your family to places near or far.  However, some people want to take that a step further and learn more in-depth information in-person in a short amount of time.  For those with that desire there are…

Learn About Miles and Points in Person

Learning about miles and points online is a great place to start, and for many it is all they ever want or need.  However, for some people it makes sense to take the next step and attend an in-person miles and points conference.  Yes, there are several miles and points conferences! This is a good time of year to think about whether an in-person miles and points event sounds interesting to you since there is one about to happen, one…
