Yesterday I shared the news that hundreds of IHG properties will cost more points in the near future and that the top tier IHG properties will go from 60,000 to 70,000 points per night. A few properties will go down in award cost, but overall the changes are far more bad than good. In total, 499 IHG properties are increasing in price while only 192 are decreasing in price. Hotel loyalty program award chart changes are common, but the number of increases IHG Rewards has done in the last few years is uncommon, and not in a good way.
