Another 50,000 Mile Increased Sign-Up Offer Available

This offer has expired. The Ink Plus isn’t the only card offering a temporarily increased sign-up bonus these days.  The Premier Miles & More World MasterCard is also in on the 4th quarter increased offer action with a total of 50,000 sign-up bonus miles possible.  You can use these miles to fly on Lufthansa, SWISS, etc. or any Star Alliance partners, such as United. This increased offer seems to come around a few times per year, and then drops back…

Flying in Lufthansa First Class on the A380 (Frankfurt – Houston)

My four nights in Norway went by in a white flash of snow, and before we knew it, the time had come to wake-up at 4AM to start the journey home.  My friend and I were taking different routes back to the US, so we said our goodbyes at the Oslo airport and I headed toward my intra-European Lufthansa flight from Oslo to Frankfurt and she headed home via Amsterdam  While I was certainly excited to be heading home to…

Lufthansa First Class Lounges in Frankfurt

After landing in Frankfurt from my over-the-top Lufthansa First Class overnight flight from Dallas, I was still a bit tired, but excited to see some fancy cars waiting to drive myself and fellow first class passengers to our next destinations.  This type of ground transportation is totally unnecessary, but still pretty fun and actually helpful. In my case, they drove me to the terminal where I would clear passport control, go through security, and then spend the time in the…

Lufthansa First Class From Dallas – Frankfurt (Norway Trip Report)

For my recent trip to Norway, I was able to leverage United miles to fly in one of the best first class products in the sky, the “new” Lufthansa First Class.  Obviously you don’t need a lie-flat bed, new pajamas, and multi-course meal to make it from Point A to Point B, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t pretty enjoyable. I talked about planning this journey in the linked post below, and will be covering the various details of the…

Five Over the Top Moments in Today’s Travel

Miles and points have given my family too many amazing experiences to count, and more are on the way.  Sometimes I get too busy and miss out on some of the amazing and unbelievable moments that happen along the way…but this time I was able to recognize the insanity/amazingness/ridiculousness for what it is, and enjoy the process of getting from Point A to Point B.  For me travel will always be primarily about the destination, but that doesn’t mean that…

Fly the New Lufthansa 747-8 or Get Home Sooner: What Would You Do

If you read posts here with some regularity (and thanks if you do!), then you already know that I traded/changed my trip to the Olympics in Sochi for a trip to Europe.  It wasn’t an easy decision to make, but once I made it, I was very excited about this new trip a friend and I are creating. We’ve been friends since high school, and both have a young kid at home, so jetting across the ocean together is a…

Booking One More Lufthansa First Class Flight Before the United Devaluation

Earlier this week I briefly mentioned that I have a trip on United miles to Europe coming up in early February (I traded the Olympics in Russia for a shorter trip with a friend to Europe), and I had hopes to being able to switch from my current itinerary to one that includes a Lufthansa First Class segment from the US to Germany, as paying for this flight using United miles will get a ton more expensive starting on February…

Book Your Family Now on Lufthansa First Next Summer!

Via Lucky, there is insanely good award space available right now on a new Toronto – Munich flight in Lufthansa First Class (or business class for that matter).  The route starts June 5th and he (and I) am seeing at least 8 first class award seats available on many, many days.  This doesn’t really ever happen as Lufthansa usually only releases space bookable with United miles (or other Star Alliance partners) 2 weeks out, if ever.  Here were my results…
